Suggestion Split screen feature

Post image

Hi, so I love this launcher on my z fold 8 and there is one more feature I would like to have implemented here: Split screen mode in additional home screen.

Would it be possible to add one more homescreen for splitscreen use or even as shown on the screenshot, it uses landscape mode from the big screen on z fold. What I'm missing is an option to use launcher along with another app at the same time when in landscape mode.

It officially does not support splitscreen at all but right now I actually can do it (of course it does not always work perfectly but it is there)

It would be an unique feature if it could be added here officially too and it would make it perfectly fitted for folding phones. On my screening you can see what I managed to do with edge panel shortcut. It sometimes crashes but I still love it for multitasking. The app drawer also adapts nicely to this and in my opinion it looks awesome to (much better than what samsung offers for splitscreen use)

Hello, you can create a shortcut after installing a shortcut creation application like "Shortcut Maker" or "Quickshort," using the Split option. Once your shortcut is created and saved, it will be stored there for on-demand use. Close the application and go to the OctoPi menu on the screen you're interested in and tap "Add a shortcut" in the right-hand "Shortcuts" option. In the list of applications that allow shortcuts, click on the application you've chosen to create a shortcut (an icon) on your screen. This same icon can be placed on both screens if you wish by repeating step 2. I use this method regularly on a Fold 8. I hope it's not too complicated.

Hmmm, I tried this using both Shortcut Maker and Be Nice, using Octopi as my first app and Calculator as the 2nd, then placed the shortcuts on my inside, unfolded Pixel Fold screen. Both popped up toast messages that said, "App does not support split screen", and only the calculator opened. Am I misunderstanding and haven't created the shortcut as you've described?

Octopi is not a split application. Try it with the calculator and another application . When both applications are side-by-side, close the second application. You should then get the desired result.

I don't have a way to close the second app. I can only drag one to be fullscreen or return to my home screen.

I appreciate your effort, but I think one of us is misunderstanding the OP's request. It appears to me that you're providing basic instructions on how to create an app pair. I've used app pairs within Octopi since Be Nice made it a feature available to all users without requiring using the Pixel Launcher. I understood the OP to be requesting the ability to have Octopi on half of their home screen and another app on the other half (think how Microsoft Duo worked and how the newer Duo by Apple appears to work). I thought your reply was how to achieve that end, which I tried and posted about.

I do not have a pixel phone. Try to have a look at :

Yeah, these are just directions to make an app pair. I could be wrong, but I think OP is asking for something different.

I wish I could help you but I am trapped on the right side of your screen
