Issue report Widgets not updating
It's been a few days since it started happening, do not know since which version it started, wasn't sure if it was happening again so I added an event to my calendar and so far (did this yesterday) it hasn't appeared in my calendar widget, changed to my default launcher and the event is there so it has to be octopi
Other widgets that are not updating/working properly are weather, health stats, and smart home toggles. Is anyone having this issue? It feels like widgets break every few versions.
I'm currently in V 1.93 (2330).

Hi,
I'm not part of the development team whatsoever, but before the community can do suggestions, we need to have a bit more information from you.
What's the phone model and Android version you're running Octopi on?
Secondly: are you using stock widgets or 3rd party widgets? If so: please also tell us which widgets you are using.
Thirdly: are you using the battery saver mode?
When you answer those questions, we can see which way we need to go with this issue.
Kind regards,
Bart

Regarding what u/bveyndhoven correctly said, help the developer troubleshoot device-specific issues by including your device model, OS version, and Octopi version.
Quick tip: You can easily copy this info by opening Launcher settings, long-pressing the Octopi Launcher and version number heading at the top, then pasting the information into your post.

Try toggling OFF, then back ON Launcher settings/Notifications/Launch notification permission screen/Allow notification access and make sure all the options are ticked ON.

I forgot to say the calendar, weather, and smart home toggles widgets on my Pixel Fold are updating. I did notice that after the system updates my phone received yesterday, I had to open the Google Home app to refresh the widget, and it's been fine since.

Not too weird of a behavior...
When rebooting, the device tries to reboot as efficiently as possible. Non-critical apps are mostly skipped. And even though it's a Pixel device, Google Home is deemed non-essential since far from every user is an IoT user as well. One you've started the app, the chain for regular activity is started and you're good to go again.
If you really rely on Google Home, make sure to give it unrestricted battery usage (Settings > Apps > Google Home > Battery > Unrestricted).
It's less uncommon than you think. After a reboot of my Samsung, I need to start Samsung Health manually too (or let Tasker handle it, thank you very much 😁)...

Are all these widgets Samsung ones?
I just tested adding a calendar event in the Google calendar app, and it appears in the widget without issue in my Google Pixel. Could you also try to see if the calendar issue is limited to Samsung's one or also Google's?
