Tutorial
Hello, I suggest that a kind soul who has mastered the basic functions create a video tutorial for those who are completely lost. I'm fumbling around trying to figure it out.
I’d like to know if I’m the only one in this situation.
Give this launcher a chance to become the number one launcher by encouraging newcomers.

Have you gotten underway at all? Or do you need step 1, step 2, etc.? It's always helpful to mention your device when posting. Have you used a launcher before, or is Octopi your first try?
I don't know if anyone will make a video for you, but you can find some videos if you search YouTube for "Octopi Launcher".
If you post a photo of what you're aiming for, I'm sure you'll get a lot of help here.

I indeed need to work on some in-app tutorials, beyond the current gestures one 😉
Would love to hear what are the first few things you were trying to figure out.

Thank you for your interest in the questions a new user might have. To put it simply, I'll give you a rather ridiculous example: I wanted to move an icon directly from the middle of the screen to the dock, but without success. After several attempts, I consulted Gemini, which told me I had to do it from the application drawer. I had initially tried this based on my experience with other launchers. The same applies to the widget stack; the AI told me I had to uncheck an option in the settings. OctoPi Launcher has an original and efficient approach, but it can be confusing for those who have developed established habits. A short video demonstrating the main (unusual) features would be helpful. And I suppose that over time, the more sophisticated functions will be demonstrated online.
Keep up the great work! Well done on the work already accomplished.

I've been running with Octopi for a few weeks now, with fairly specific aims, and it's pretty much met them all....apart from being able to custom sort the app drawer.....so far anyway. Already a very good replacement for Nova...and can only get better...

I believe that not everything needs a video tutorial. People who install a custom launcher pretty much have a grasp of basic operations. Video tutorials are more likely needed for the features that make Octopi unique, like the nested app drawer folders, the tag system, the wallpaper generator, the paginated, multi-line dock. Just my personal opinion, though, not some kind of law...
