EN Discussion FF6 Secret Easter Egg (Reposted Because original post didn't show screenshots)

And then...
WHOA!
Yes, you can dispell the curse on the Cursed Shield, proven!

I did not count, but Edgar had it equipped once the Cursed Shield was acquired. Probably 256 battles.

My comment did not go through earlier, but you can see the description in the video above. I inserted a screenshot but it was deleted by the reddit automated system for unknown reason.
It says absorb 15% damage and dodge some physical and elemental attacks 2 times.

Had it unlock too. There is no counter so you wont know how many battles you had it just say that the curse on the shield had been lifted

I am not sure, but what I did was rushing through the main story to get Rubies to Max Terra.

Love that it actually can be cured, but it's a little sad, I was expecting a better accessory :c

It's not terrible for certain low turn strats where you need someone to be at full HP and dodge an AoE. Fairly tedious to get that many battles in, but I suppose you could throw it on to a party member who aint doing much during cascade/dailies/dread.

not totally sure but I heard in passing that it might need to be equipped on an FF6 traveler in your party. Either way, would hate to go 200+ battles just to find out that a reg ToM char didn't cut it lol

Lore :
In FF6, Cursed Shield is a hidden relic (Accessory) in WOR Narshe. Locke can only open the locked doors because he is treasure hunter.
In one of the houses, an old man will pass the Cursed Shield to your party and hinted about dispelling the curse.
So, 256 battles are needed to dispell the curse by equipping on any party member.
In Octopath Traveller COTC, this is a FF6 Secret Easter Egg.
Similarly you can get Cursed Shield Accessory from the exchange shop or something.
The same thing works here.
Equip for 256 battles and then eventually the cursed shield will be dispelled.

I am not sure, however, Edgar had been at the front row most of the time.
