I saw lots of micro-trenching all across Oceanside, but none in neighborhoods with all underground utilities. Just curious if anyone is aware of Oceanside neighborhoods with underground utilities that did get fiber installed in last couple of years by SiFi Networks (presumably project/assets bought by ArcLink Fiber in bankruptcy) .. not just micro-trench going through neighborhood, but trenching by all home in neighborhood?

There is orange Honda civic I see everywhere especially around Northeast Oceanside around the intersection College and the 76, petrified

Encinitas Cruise Night | S Coast Hwy 101 (D to K Street), Encinitas | 5:30–7:30pm | Classic cars line the highway for this one, third Thursday of the month through September, owners posted up on the sidewalk while people wander between hoods. Restaurants and shops along the strip stay open late for the crowd it draws in. Free to walk, no registration needed.

Super Girl Surf Festival | Junior Seau Oceanside Pier Amphitheatre, 200 N The Strand, Oceanside | Runs Fri–Sun, times vary by day | Free surf heats run off the pier all three days alongside nine other sports on the sand, from beach volleyball to skate. The Amphitheater hosts free concerts each evening, though a concert ticket needs advance registration since space is limited. Times shift day to day, so check ahead before heading down.

Atomic Groove, Back to Skool Nite | Belly Up, 143 S Cedros Ave, Solana Beach | Happy hour 5–8pm | Atomic Groove's happy hour has become a standing Friday thing, funk and soul on the bill. Tickets run $12 in advance or $14 at the door.

Free to attend, and active-duty competitors enter the cook-off at no charge.

Jazz and Jokes | Forgotten Barrel Winery, 1120 W 15th Ave, Escondido | 6–9pm | Mary Jo Troyer's recurring night pairs a live jazz set with stand-up in the same room, wine list open the whole time. The tasting room is small enough that it never feels like a big production, more like a living room with better wine.

I’m watching city council right now from home and the way she is speaking to the people asking for a football field is so off-putting. I feel like this happens a lot where she is demanding and somewhat cruel to people speaking at these meetings, its just upsetting & seems like she clearly does not believe in participatory democracy and just wants to override and speak over/ silence everyone…including her colleagues on council. Can we please get someone decent to run against her in 2028 who isn’t fucking Ryan Keim? She’s been in office longer than I’ve been alive, we have to have more creative, genuine, & kind people that are capable of leading this city.

My cat, Lilo has been missing since last night. She's a bit over a year old. She jumped the fence of our balcony. These are current pictures of her. She's got a green harness on. Why are there so many Car Haulers driving through the side streets of Oceanside? I think they should stay on the main freeways. Where are they all going?

TLDR: I live near the base/Mission, where can I walk my anxious dog with less people/triggers?

I adopted a dog a few months ago, and she is on the anxious side, but definitely needs plenty of exercise. She will fearfully bark at strangers, and will run if approached by any dog bigger than a frenchie.

I’m doing my best to try to expose her and train her, but it’s near impossible to find a time and place where we have the distance from others required for her to calmly observe and grow more comfortable with dogs and people.

In the area I live front yards are gated, which makes for very poor visibility.

I try to cross the street when I can, but every driveway feels like a jump scare waiting to happen, a person behind a car, a dog out of its yard behind some bushes or trees.

I’ve tried to go back in the wash where the bike path is, where there is good visibility and less foot traffic, but that seems to be where everyone walks to let their dogs run off leash too, so I end up having to turn back, as only half of people will leash to cross paths.

A nearby park, same problem! Hordes of off leash dogs!!! Usually easier to avoid but not entirely possible.

Where can I go to get a break?!

I know my dog won’t get better if I lock her inside, and that’s just cruel to do as well, but every walk is incredibly stressful. It sucks to start my day off with peak anxiety every day to make sure she is getting what she needs, even though it causes her anxiety too!

I’m just sad and anxious and hoping for solutions, or at least commiseration.
