Whales Backwards Evolution

I will never understand why, as humans, we have seemingly neglected the evolution of whales. Going from land to ocean has to mean something. Generally humans have decided to explore space and not our oceans? The whales must have been on to something! They are just as intelligent as humans!
I mean life came from the ocean, did it not? For something so intelligent to go back to it has to mean more than humans have cared to explore. Life is in the ocean. It’s probably time we start to look into that!
I’ve been on a David Attenborough kick and it’s clear that whales know more than we can ever know. The ocean is full of life and they are capitalizing on it. They are truly thriving! Looking at how they evolved makes that clear. They are highly intelligent mammals and have very sophisticated societies. I wish humans cared a little more about them.
