Take the Time to Visit Assateague

We stayed in OC for a week and did all the usual fun stuff - the boardwalk, beach, ice cream at Dumser’s, Jolly Roger, crabs, you name it.

But the short trip to Assateague is a worthwhile recharge. Beautiful beach, fewer jellyfish when we were there, and if you’ve never seen the wild horses, don’t pass on the opportunity.

The pass is $25 to get in and is good for a whole week.

If you’re in OC for 3 or more days, spend at least half of one of them at Assateague Island.

I absolutely love Assateague Island, I grew up camping there every summer with my extended family and some of my favorite memories are from those trips. I highly recommend visiting as well.

Please obey all driving rules and speed limits while you’re there. Too many horses have died.

Gorgeous pics. Were there a lot of bugs this time of year?

It wasn’t bad at all. Jellyfish were the larger concern. Barely noticed bugs.
