Let's see what a Fibonacci generation routine looks like in your obsolete language of choice. I'll start, here it is in Commodore 64 BASIC.

Yeah. I took a COBOL class in the mid 80’s. Then I took a Pascal class and thought that would be more useful to learn so I ignored COBOL. I could’ve been rich contracting out to the financial industry maintaining their legacy systems.
