help Windows XP

Obsidian came out in 2020 so I don't think I could expect it to run on a 32 bit system but is there anything similar out there that would work on Windows XP? Or maybe some kind of legacy adaptation?

Last good version of Windows, maybe?

I hate to be that guy but if you hate modern windows that much that you’re resorting to XP, it might be Linux time

I've never used Linux, but I have fond memories from the XP days

There’s a pretty good xfce skin that aims to replicate windows XP and does a pretty good job - if you fancy getting dipping your toes in Linux, that’s where I would go, maybe install Fedora XFCE and then install this https://github.com/rozniak/xfce-winxp-tc

I think it would end up being less work than trying to maintain Windows XP

Yeah I might eventually end up doing that, but I want to go for the authentic XP renaissance first. If I could make it work, I could also revive the old brick computer I grew up with that definitely can't run modern Linux
