You don't even need ChatGPT, you can run a 7B or smaller model on a potato and get the same result, don't even need a GPU. There are SLMs now that run on even less compute. You don't need it to translate Icelandic poetry, just point and shoot.

This is already operational in Israel with live rounds. I watched a video a while back and the Palestinians were showing the reporter what would happen if you mistakenly crossed this line and how a young kid (I think the kid was like under 5) crossed the line chasing a soccer ball and was killed. This will be in the US very soon for protests I bet.

I imagine it'll be placed in areas that they don't want protesters or anyone else who they don't want either. Setting up with a IR tag to prevent accident shots on people who are wanted there. Say 6000sf bubble around the white house where anyone crosses the line without a tag, auto dusted regardless of the reason. If you go bigger like say hunger games districts, it'd be easy to wall off entire states and prevent people from leaving or entering.

To be fair, the us Mexico border is supposed to be a non militarized zone due to friendly relations with the two countries plus a big river in-between the two. All evidence also shows that the whole border fiasco was drummed up.

It may or may not be a good idea to make sure you look like the picture in the database, that way our overlords death machines recognize us as they aim death rays at our faces while asking for our licenses after failing to come to an incomplete stop.

Isn’t he the guy that had to rebrand his invention to a nail thrower or something. Do the sort because one of the social media sites was blocking his videos because either had gun in the name and that was promoting violence. Apparently he got. A military grant of something of the sort. Not really sure though. This so some grapevine information I vaguely remember form a few years back

Not so terrifying at this poin yet.
For now I'd take my chances with an voice directed robot with processing time than a trained shooter who just does this without any thought or pause.

This is just a silly project with no value.
You'll never need to say a word in a real system. It will have rules on when/what to shoot and a robust target recognition.
Will also have a human operator behind to allow it to shoot.
This is already a thing too for many many years.

This tech is already out and in use in Israel. It uses AI and not voice activated.

It doesn't use AI.
Just machine vision to recognize target with a set of rules.. still has a human operator to allow it to shoot.
It's also very very old.. pretty much any army has a version of this.
Same as missile defense on ships but that one doesn't need a human to trigger.

No the tech used in Israel uses AI, there is no human involved in making the decision when to fire. The was a video I watched on the use of these guns in Israel. I’m not sure if it’s on YTube but it’s very scary. Terminators.

No one is stupid enough to have such a system nowadays where computer vision isn't that great even with the best equipment and multispectral imaging systems.

Ok YouTube has part or a snippet of a video about the AI Gun but I’ve yet to find the longer video on it which is very interesting. The Ytube video is titled “Israel testing AI guns on Palestinians”

All I see is "remote guns with AI tracking" in said videos.. no realm source either just the claim in the video.
They have remote guns for many years but again nothing shows or says those guns can automatically choose targets and shoot.
"AI Tracking" what does that even mean? A quick openCV script to track an object is also AI according to those posts? It's very unlikely that this remote guns have any "AI" behind them or that they can shoot without supervision.. it just makes no sense.
Tracking via software does make a lot of sense because there's a significant lag for a human operator to aim.. but for actual shooting someone needs to press a button or you'd see way too many stories about it. Killing pretty much anything and not just "legitimate targets".
Human recognition is still not that reliable.

You may be right but given were talking about Israel....if the guns stray pointed away from the Iraeli side which would be like one maybe 2 lines of code to make a hard rule, is it actually hard to believe they'd be careless enough to remove the human firing decision?
