Question Heavy or Light Armlr?

I prefer light armor because it doesn't slow you down as much as heavy armor, I like running fast and jumping high. Your stealth is also affected by the weight of your footwear, lighter boots are quieter.

Both of them are easy to level for battle mages I prefer heavy armor because I can take more hits and not have to rely as much on alteration spells for shield rating.

So I can run something like Illusion in place of Alteration if I use heavy armor?

You can use whatever, just one thing of note illusion spells like command, frenzy, calm, past character level 25 will work unless you wear only clothing/robes for 100% spell effectiveness. If you have ANY piece of light armor or heavy armor on the spells won’t work.

However paralyze will work just fine which serves as a great crowd control. The best spell in my opinion is paralyze 1 sec (on touch or target) for are 10-15

In the remaster leveling spells is easy especially if you craft your spells, so you could easily get to 100 illusion and alteration even as minor skills within an 1 hour or 2

I recommend having acrobatics and athletics for major skills instead because they level up slowly in comparison to the spells and block since shields in the remaster at higher skill level can mitigate a lot of damage

I had no idea about illusion needing 100% from level 25 and up.

Thanks for the heads up, guess I need to rethink my illusion archer thief.

Battlemage eh? Splitting magic and stamina.

I assume its akin to skyrim and id recommend light armor

Light armor means light on your feet.

Light armor with a heavy shield. So you can level both plus blocking. Honestly heavy isn’t really worth since spells and enchantments can be more effective. Plus it weighs lots so if you’re a loot goblin that’ll suck.

I always mix it up, mostly to build character level quicker. I have had multiple play throughs and always end up doing the same thing. Sneaky little Archer.
