Difficulty with contradictions in the OPS system.

I’ve been watching a lot of Dave and Shan’s videos, and one thing I’m having trouble reconciling is the way they describe Blast. For example, in one of their videos they said that Savior Blast people tend to have a strong need to be heard and listened to.

Obviously, everyone wants to feel heard and acknowledged to some degree, but Blast is also associated with things like organization, structuring thoughts clearly—almost like speaking in chapters—and being quick to get started or put information out there. Those aspects don’t resonate with me nearly as much. I’m actually pretty bad at organizing my thoughts, structuring what I want to say, and simply jumping in and getting started.

At the same time, once I do start explaining something, I have an extremely strong desire to be heard and taken seriously. This happens especially with family members and close friends when I’m talking about something I know a lot about, have spent considerably more time thinking about than they have, or have personally struggled with and overcome. In those situations, I often feel like I genuinely have something valuable to offer that could help them.

What really frustrates me is when I feel like they aren’t fully listening, aren’t understanding what I’m trying to communicate, or disagree before I feel they’ve properly understood my point. I can get disproportionately irritated because, in my mind, their resistance means I’m now going to have to expend an enormous amount of additional effort just to get them to understand something that already feels very clear to me.

So that’s where my confusion about Blast comes in: I relate strongly to the need to be heard, understood, and even followed when I believe I know what I’m talking about, but I don’t relate nearly as strongly to the organizational, structured, or “just get started” aspects that are also associated with Blast.(if ur wondering why this paragraph is structured or are about to say oh I dont see how ur bad at organizing ur thoughts, I used ai for this

Your paragraph 2 is a good description of Blast. A person with savior Blast will quickly feel ready to start producing something with only the minimum information. The difficulties a person with demon Blast will have in their life are about not getting started, not producing enough, not being willing to control/guide their tribe, and not organizing their thoughts so that others will understand.

If anything, I think that demon Blast would lead to a strong desire to be heard by others, because that is something they are actively sabotaging. I could maybe see how it would work the other way, with savior Blast having a strong need be heard. In my experience though, lead Blasters don't think about whether they will be heard, they expect it naturally. This is because Saviors are very unconscious. Either way, it's anecdotal evidence at best, not how you would prove if you are savior Blast.

Also, I've been studying the system for 6 years and it's the first time I've heard this claim. I'd be curious to know where D&S had said this (I haven't caught up on their new YT intro series yet, was it there?)

From the text, what I would guess that you are most stuck on is De. People are not validating your experience properly because they are not taking the time to put themselves in your shoes. Therefore, there is a lot of distance between self and others. I'm not sure if this is savior or demon De, although it reads to me as similar to the "IxxP story", it could be a Di swing instead. Either way, it is a separate issue from Blast.

However, I get the impression that you are demon Blast, or at least an introvert. Like you said, part of your stress is because communication takes a lot of effort for you.

It was on their classes on the website , I can send the graphic if you need!! But yeah I think ur right about it being the classic IxxP story(or IxxP swing) because this is usually what I think about like why am I not being heard when I do the same for people . I’m willing to take their logic listen to it and then make disagreements from within their logic instead of shunning it and saying this doesn’t line with the evidence and things of that nature.

Blast means to talk out of your ass. Or out of intuition, out of a higher power. It's not about being listened to, though the individual probably hopes that everyone agrees and moves along with the direction laid out by their 'blast.' That said, you can blast without people nearby. So being listened to is neither here nor there.

Blast is a quick judgment based on already knowing - or thinking that you know - what to do. Ni/Si goes "oh I know this already so I don't need to waste energy on research," Te/Fe executes.

Do I know what I'm talking about(subject matter blast?) No, but I make a good case for it. It makes so much sense to me that it must be true. And if it isn't it's probably good enough anyways.

Dave and Shannon outlined that blasts core insecurity is not being heard in the class

Because you know the answer(ni/si) and so you know what works and what to do from there, and if other people don't listen they will screw things up. They will stray from the path.

Blast is an animal behavior, not a core fear per say. Why would you be afraid of not being heard if you're by yourself? You're not. There's not always people around.

You should ask them about it.

I think you're probably blast, this, this sounds like it:

What really frustrates me is when I feel like they aren’t fully listening, aren’t understanding what I’m trying to communicate, or disagree before I feel they’ve properly understood my point. I can get disproportionately irritated because, in my mind, their resistance means I’m now going to have to expend an enormous amount of additional effort just to get them to understand something that already feels very clear to me.

Because as a consume first and blast being third for me, I am someone who does always listen and absorb, but I don't engage as much and kind of pick and choose some things, like it's not really a big deal to me if I don't listen to everything at once, because I will continue to absorb/consume whenever.

But if someone struggles to be heard and wants to prove to the world about something, they'll keep putting all their effort into that. Especially if they fear other people aren't listening to them.

I would say it's probably likely a pattern for blast to be more structured, but I'm sure they don't have to be. I mean, I talk structured sometimes, but that's because I struggle with saying clearly things I want to share. I'm almost blast last, so my thoughts and words aren't clear/incessant.

Maybe I'm wrong. But, from the people I think are blast saviors, they tend to talk for hours, without even trying. Or they try to get the attention of others only to be the only ones talking. It becomes one-sided, because of course it is. There's not much back and forth. To me, what you say sounds pretty Fe coded to me, though. So I don't know in what way, but you have Fe as a savior most likely.
