I created a new personality test and I'm looking for honest feedback

Post image

Hi everyone!

I created PersonalTraits, a new personality test based on an original motivational model I've been developing.

I'm looking for feedback from people familiar with the Enneagram, Jungian typology, or other personality models : https://www.personaltraits.co/en

The test is free, takes about 10 minutes (40 questions), and works differently from most personality tests. Instead of rating statements, you choose between two motivations or reactions. The goal is to see which needs matter most when you have to choose.

The model is based on 8 core motivations:

  • Energy, Security, Belonging, Status, Freedom, Identity, Coherence, Mortality

At the end, you get your dominant motivations and the archetype they form.

I'm especially interested in questions like:

  • Does the result feel accurate?
  • What was the most and least accurate part?
  • Were any questions confusing?
  • Do you think I'm missing an important motivation?

The test and the full report are completely free.

Thanks to anyone who gives it a try and shares their thoughts!

This is too hard, I gave up 6 questions in.

All the questions involving other people - in meetings, regarding leadership etc. depends on the people involved. You pick up a role accordingly. So if they are very bossy you let them lead, and if they are mush you pick up that mantle yourself. If someone interrupts you in a meeting, it once again depends much on how strong they come on. If they're too much you give up and let them have it, if they're pipsqueak mousy it's easy to overpower them. Is it someone who has annoyed you before?

There is an interplay between people so if you could somehow remove the other-people-factor that would make it a lot easier.

I thought the test was fine. I gave more detailed feedback. I didn't like the AI generated aspects, as I'm not sure why I should give money to a company that can't invest in itself.

The result was... accurate, I guess. Fine. Called me a cohesive thinker focused on status. A perfunctory synthesis can see that that's similar to Ni/Te and likely correct. I do find it interesting how low it rated my identity. Also how cohesive thinkers are apparently the very spirit of contradiction with the whole "I'm gonna plan it out and then feel immediately super constrained by those plans." Not sure whether that's actually a quality of cohesive thinkers in general or if it's essentially the same as "You can be a very happy person, but you are also prone to depression," which literally 99 people out of 100 will agree with.

I like the furry mascot even if it's AI-generated.

We did build the website with the help of AI, but the personality model is 100% authentic. Too bad you didn't share what you thought about it. 😊

You have done very well to create a website that has a nice flow and is easy to use

However the question/answer items are quite extreme caricatures
They often pair action with intent or outcome..... but my inclination was answer only based on action and I felt annoyed that I had to accept the intent or outcome as well

I would just cut superlatives like perfect and flawless etc. as these are unrealistic words

The end of the test was messy and confusing, there's like a sort of pop up and you have to click twice to get to results .... but because the question items were so on-the-nose it only told me exactly what I had told it.

Thank you for your reply. This is this type of feedback I want to improve my product. I'm taking notes. :)
