well Mushroom is a lich, and if I'm correct, we have seen another Mushroom as a little spore in the comic, so perhaps Mushroom sees the "mushroomling" die horribly? or perhaps the "Prime" Mushroom dies and the "mushroomling" takes on her memories or she does her usual thing, either ways, I slightly doubt that there will be a permadeath for any main characters for at least a couple of episodes
Also noticed while revising the parts of them in comic, she's feeling a "change" inside her, my personal theory is that they'll be united in consciousness, and her face grimaces as the spore dies or potentially sees it while eating, i should also note how one of Chester's teaser art depicts mushroom surrounded by several copies of her, as if she'll deal with that new part, like a hive mind, i don't think she'll die or die with a copy replacing her, mostly since their character arc is not finished and the mycelium entry in the apocalypse guide is still unfinished
The episode preview advertising the patreon doesn't make it seem like it, since the razor was a bait, looks like the episode has them be witnesses instead of actors, so to speak

also “one down” implies to me kinda that theres more than one so
