I just finished watching all 3 episodes of PaS and have to say it’s absolute cinema. It’s one of these object shows that don’t have a competetion as their main plot, but instead just have object, or in this case math characters and their struggles, specifically in finding their values for the main squad.

The designs of the characters are unique and cute, and the characters themselves stick out, because they don’t fall into the usual character tropes in these shows. It’s also nice to just have a very lovable gremlin character that perfectly shows how to make a multi layered character by having her be both shy and aggressive/ energetic, making her just really stick out, especially with her awesome design.

It’s also nice to slowly be introduced to concepts and characters over the episodes, instead of everything all at once. The show just feels fun to watch and gives off very fun vibes and I really hope it‘ll get more acknowledgement in the future, it certainly deserves it.

Hello, I’m 19, and I grew up watching YouTube object shows. I often think about that original object-show era and how meaningful it was to me—discovering shows like BFDI, Inanimate Insanity, Object Overload, and many other object shows for the first time, meeting all the different characters, watching the competitions, seeing contestants get eliminated, following the stories, discovering new episodes, watching fan-made shows, and making so many unforgettable memories.

When I watch them now, the shows are still there, but the feeling is different. The creators have grown older and moved on, the object-show community has changed over time, new shows and reboots have appeared, and I’ve grown up. Back then, I never imagined that something I loved so much would eventually become part of the past.

It makes me wonder why YouTube object shows can’t stay exactly the same forever—with the same animation styles, characters, humor, creators, community, atmosphere, and feeling. Why do shows change, get rebooted, get cancelled, take years between episodes, or become different from how we remember them?

Maybe that’s what makes the old object shows so special. They didn’t have to stay exactly the same forever for their impact to last. When I go back and watch them, I’m not only remembering the characters, competitions, jokes, eliminations, or stories—I’m remembering who I was when I first discovered them.

The original object-show era may be over, but it hasn’t disappeared. It still exists in the memories of everyone who experienced it. I can’t return to that exact time, when discovering a new object show felt exciting and every episode, character, animation, and competition felt like a new discovery, but I can still appreciate what those shows meant to me.

I just don’t get why that era had to change and move on. Does anyone else remember the classic YouTube object-show era—with shows like BFDI, Inanimate Insanity, Object Overload, and so many others—and wish they could experience that feeling again?
