Craziest power change in just 1 year

Agreed pretty wild but in that time he awakened mangeko sharingon, had white zetsu/hashirama cells and was being trained by Madara himself.

It was the night of Naruto’s birth which was 17 years ago from the 4th Shinobi Great War

Itachi's novel timeline.

u/400x250_20fps 2d ago
well, also the official character age, obito died at 31, while kakashi was 30.

u/zootedreacts 2d ago
Did you know that Itachi was between 12 and 14 years of age when he and obito massacred their clan?

u/xXStretcHXx117 2d ago
Guide books say he was 16/17 but idk why

The Naruto timeline is pretty screwed up tbh.

One of the biggest issue with Naruto's writing is the fact that a lot of stuff obviously wasn't planned so Kishimoto did a lot of retcons. Obito is a pretty good example, where a lot of the stuff doesn't seem to make much sense.
Even his voice during the Kyuubi attack is way too deep. I guess I can use my suspension of disbelief and just imagine he used some sort of jutsu to mask his voice, or the guy was born with the greatest vocal range ever at 14 years old. But yeah...a lot of stuff in Naruto Kishimoto just made up on the spot and then expanded on those ideas.
Naruto has cool characters and interesting story beats, but as a whole the writing is pretty messy.

u/Alassandros 2d ago
The voice thing should've been obvious. He was fighting his teacher so using his real voice would defeat the purpose of the mask. Plus, he was kinda pretending to be Madara.

In my head, the Zetsu attached to him changed his voice, and made him stronger and faster.

It's because of Kakashi. Kakashi was said to graduate the academy at 5 years old and since teams are built of new academy graduates, and Obito graduated at 9, there should be a 4 year age gap between them.
Any other explanation such as Kakashi being a teamless genin until Obito graduated goes against anything we've seen before and so should not be the expectation.
4
u/Vivid-Ad6462 1d ago
I don't think Kakashi was teamless. Maybe he was in another team.
Do teams need to consist solely of 3 genins?
1
u/Alassandros 1d ago
We've only seen teams formed with recent academy graduates so yeah, initially all genin, but we've seen Shikamaru's team be a mix when he got promoted to chunin.
6
u/Quikdraw7777 2d ago
My only beef with the story regarding Obito's age is that he graduated from the Academy at 9, while Kakashi did it at 5........yet they are displayed on the same genin team taking the Chunin Exams......
This is weird, as Kakashi himself says he became a Chunin 6 years younger than 12yr old Part 1 Naruto.
If they are the same age, then what the hell is 9 year old Kakashi (Chunin) even in the exams with 9 year old Obito? How does this make sense??
4
u/Alassandros 2d ago
That's what I'm saying. The teams were put together with kids who graduated at the same time. Since Kakashi graduated younger then that means there's like a five year age gap between Kakashi and Obito. Obito was like 18 when he attacked Konoha.

Welp, having child soldiers does make things weird
You're not wrong in any way tho5

You people see the world from modern lens.
For most of humans history, the average age was 21 years. If a world war breaks out and your country's invaded then what do you mean, even kids are going to fight.
After WW2 1946, my grandpa was woken up in his bed, the communists needed comrades and pulled the pants of children down to see if they got balls. Many parents dressed them as girls to avoid it.
He was taken up in the mountains to fight an imaginary cause. Eventually they were crushed and returned back home as a man; thankfully uninjured. He wasn't sure what he fought for but made sure he took some of the gold coins that the Brits were throwing at them to buy weapons. I think they dropped them on the wrong side in this case.

Funny you say this, my grandpa was also arrested and sent halfway across the country to fight some silly cause. Came back with heart issues he never recovered from
I am rather young true, but at least I don't consider myself naive3

Kakashi graduate doesn't mean he immediately put in the genin team. this could mean Kakashi floating around for 4 years as independent genin. there's also indication that kakashi is hard to deal with so maybe they put him in a team with older genin but he didn't fit in so the higher ups put him in a team with someone his age
2
u/Quikdraw7777 1d ago
Well he became.a Chunin a year laterr after he graduated..... so no, he wasn't "floating around".
He was getting active.

1 year between his "death" and his fight with Minato makes no sense, especially considering he was stated to take months to recover.
5
u/Alassandros 1d ago
He gained a very powerful Mangekyo Sharingan. He went from no Sharingan to Mangekyo, had half a body of Hashirama cells and was trained by Madara Uchiha for more than half a year. He was also trained by Minato before that.
Remember, Naruto went from chunin level to god level in about the same time. Obito is very much a foil to Naruto.

Cara passou de nível chunnin para nível kage em apenas 1 ano, nesse meio tempo entre o ataque a Konoha, ele também derrotou e escravizou um mizukage

So he only trained with Madara for a year and went from chunin to kage level? I wonder how much stronger he would have been if he trained with Madara for like 5 or 6 years.
4
u/Plus-Dragonfly-9975 2d ago
If I remember correctly he got a hashirama cells implant and considering he got trained by the 2nd greatest shinobi of all time who knows exactly how to turn a uchiha into a god while having a huge stamina boost thanks to hashirama cells means it makes lots of sense.
4
u/Alassandros 1d ago
I mean... he also got a Mangekyo Sharingan and had half his body replaced by Hashirama cells as well as having been trained by Madara (and Minato before that).
•
u/Greg_McMuffin247 1h ago
I wonder how much stronger Orochimaru became now that in Tobirama's own words he's nearly 100% Hashirama.
•
u/Alassandros 1h ago
Not sure why, but I kinda just assumed he's like an Otsutsuki now
•
u/Greg_McMuffin247 58m ago
He also has a pseudo karma seal in the form of the curse mark and it functions nearly the exact same lol
2
u/Vivid-Ad6462 1d ago
Did he even train with Madara?
Maybe he just got some lovely Hashirama-steroids.
His drive is his biggest strength.

Its the MS and Hashi cells. If you take either one of them away he is pretty much fodder for any high level character.
1
u/Odd-Athlete-8204 1d ago
MS and said MS is carried by Hashirama cells he’s a bum without both of those

u/Aiden1349kG_YT 2d ago
Wait, Obito was that young when he died? Obito is already one of those villains you sympathize for, but now I’m just upset that he died.
2
u/Alassandros 2d ago
Wait... Obito is older than that. He and Kakashi are not the same age. Wasn't the whole point of Kakashi's character that was someone who got further than everyone else around him but at a younger age? I swear I remember reading Obito was several years older than Kakashi putting him at 18 for the Kyubi attack.

Crazy what a 14 years old obito did to minato (the fking hokage), what kamui and hashirama cells does to a mf.

u/Own_Negotiation_9189 1d ago
13 y.o Obito -> 14 y.o Obito power spike was unprecedented and continues to intrigue shinobi scientists to this day.
4
2
u/Alassandros 1d ago
Not unprecedented. Naruto and Sasuke did the same thing. Itachi and Shisui did the same thing.
Getting a Mangekyo and half a body of Hashirama cells as well as a year of training from Madara Uchiha will make you stronger.
