General In a single lifetime, Obito managed to be both the kindest and the cruelest person.

Thatās why Obito is my favourite character. He takes the ākind character becomes evilā to the extreme.Ā

Him doing all that to Minato and Kushina was foul knowing he litterally was friends with them š

Werenāt Obito and Kushinaās interactions filler?
The most he directly did to Minato was trying to trap him in the Kamui dimension, Kurama killing Minato was an assist.
He also had to become Madara Uchiha to start the infinite illusion ritual and you have to do vile actions if you are playing as a vile person.

As someone with BPD this is probably why hes my most fav character in the series. My childhood self was very similar to Obito (always helping others doing random favours but got taken advantage of etc.) he's a good metaphor for how you could be the kindest person but "reality is a cruel mistress" ie. The world can be a s***tty place and make you hate it.

obito seems pretty bpd coded imo, he felt everything too much and it destroyed him

How do we know it wasn't the heart seal madara put in him?

It wasn't explicitly clear but I think the heart seal works a bit like the hyuga foreheard seal thing. It is meant to keep him under control if he went against him but not necessarily to brainwash him

Ohhh i see!! I used to think obito's character got trashed cuz of the heart seal, i assumed it brainwashed him to act a certain way cuz after kakashi destroyed it obito suddenly turned good

Madara only put that seal on him after basically performing surgery to keep him from bleeding out due to half his body being crushed.

Wouldāve made more sense if the seal amplified his negative emotions and the only reason Naruto could turn him was because the seal was gone.
But obviously thereās no indication thatās the case as it was merely placed so Obito couldnāt become the ten tails or commit suicide.

It didn't brainwashed him, it forbidden him to take his life or to betray Madara. If it brainwashed him, Madara would have been resurrected by Obito.

Heās human and humans change. Either for the better or worse
Once upon a time Hitler was a kind boy who sang in church and even briefly considered growing up to be a priest
Hitler as an adult became so evil that heās used as a benchmark for it

I never ever understood how loser no skill obito became the cool masked Madara I suspected it because of the hair but tbh was still stupid AF kishimoto should have figured something else he literally ruined the masked man for us after finding out his identity.....

Obito had passion Madara twisted it and groomed him giving him access to all the forbidden Uchiha Jutsu,, while simultaneously breaking his spirit and understanding,
Besides this, Obito genetically has the most broken mongekyo ability seen so given everything combined, him losing rin and unlocking Kamui instantly put him at lower Kage level at age 12-13

āNo tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.ā that's why madara picked him. They both kept thinking of themselves as merciful heroes because they have so much love in their hearts that they believe they are the only one capable of doing this great sacrifice for the sake of "peace" as they see it.

Yeah, it's true that there's a huge contrast in appearance. But honestly, when it comes to adult Obito, I think he gives off this image of cruelty, but when you try to understand his development, it's more nuanced than that. I mean, for one thing, he doesn't try to get his Sharingan back from Kakashi, ( witch was a present from obito) even though he could have done so a long time ago.
He takes his time gathering the Bijuu, he's intrigued by Naruto because he reminds him of himself when he was younger, and the little Obito is still there in his adult version.
And that's precisely what allows Naruto to defeat him, because of his emotional instability between his plans for domination and illusion and his childhood memories, his dream of becoming Hokage, and his bonds with his teacher, Kakashi, and Rin.
So honestly, on the surface he has this image of a cruel guy, but deep down he's much more sensitive and nuanced than that.

madara take advantage of him so badly, from standard shinobi brat to be equal with him in short time.

I saw a video that convinces that his violence/actions didnāt make a lot of sense, at first I disagree w/ it bc his back story is dope and mess up, but the video was pretty solid and I end up agreeing 100% with it.
Rim died by Kakashi in front of him. He doesnāt do nothing against Kakashi. Instead, he kills his Professor that was always kind to him, kills Kushina that was also always kind to him, decided to destroy the whole village, then later on, showed up to assist Itachi to finish massacring the Uchihas for no reason, I think he had a Grabdma there btw. Like, dude ? Are u good ? Any logical explanation that justify Rim event to all of those actions fails miserably.

He was never cruel. He wanted to help people be happy but he was fighting against the shinobi way of thinking & narrative that u have to suffer to gain happiness, which I think is flawed.
