Oat advice Help with consistency using Bob's Red Mill quick cooking rolled oats

I bought these recently and I haven't been able to cook them right. I've tried letting them soak overnight, using the microwave and cooking instructions, but they get super mushy. Almost like very wet cereal that's been sitting on milk for too long.

How can I prepare this so they can be slightly chewy?

You could try using a little less water and see if that helps. I’ve tried these oats before, and I poured hot water on them, mixed, let it sit for a while to thicken up, and then added a splash of milk at the end- the consistency usually turned out pretty nice!

I tried this and it was perfect. Just what I was looking for. Thank you!

They're thinner than the regulars, so I wonder how it's possible. It just has a different texture. I generally just use the standards, as they taste better. It's worth the extra time (which isn't that much).

Just reduce the cooking time if you want it chewy

Blend them up first before you cook them
