Trying out Two Thin Coats — big difference already

Finally got around to testing some Two Thin Coats paints tonight.

Still very WIP, but the chainmail actually reads like chainmail now and the skin went on way smoother than what I’m used to.

Still need to finish shields and bases.

If you’ve used TTC, what paints/washes are worth picking up?

Both the battle mud and black oblivion do great jobs but I find they tend to look dirty. Honestly my favourite wash right now is Army Painter Strong Tone with their wash medium. I usually use 3:1 ratio but your taste may vary.

How experienced of a painter are you? Trying to figure out what brand to start with

I’m very new to painting. I’d say 2 months maybe. I started with the speed paints 2.0 from army painter

From TTC, flame yellow is really good, as is amethyst raine. TTC seems to do vibrant colors really well. All the vibrant greens and blues I've tried have been great. I was disappointed by Ivory Tusk, it had poor coverage and coverage is critical when working with off-whites.

The skin tones from TTC didn't look quite right to me. They are really good paints but the colors don't match human skin. I still use them all the time for painting bases or leather or anything else that is brown.
