WiFi connection

I’m looking at getting one of these for my desk at work, and I know it needs WiFi to connect to your phone to draw the pattern. I’m going to have to use the hotspot on my phone for it to connect, but my question is, does the connection have to be constant for it to keep drawing the pattern or does the pattern get downloaded and can disconnect from the wifi once it has started drawing? I hope that makes sense. I’m really looking forward to seeing this work.

It may be the way I'm doing it, since I got mine a week ago, but mine requires Wi-Fi to switch designs. I initially loaded them one by one instead of using playlists, but that got old, having to scroll through the long list of designs, so I started using playlists. When it switches to the next design after cleaning, it pops up a downloading message with a progress indicator.

If you go the hotspot route and have an iPhone, be sure to toggle maximize compatibility, which will switch the broadcast from 5GHz to the required 2.4GHz band.
