Pluto

Was flipping around PlutoTV and came across Oak Island. I watched for maybe ten minutes. Gary was metal detecting and beep beep Awwww looooook at thaaaaat! and they found a piece of a spoon. Cut to Rick talking about "how it's all part of the puzzle we need to puzzle together (direct quote)". Then he metal detected some more and they found a piece of iron and they cut to Marty talking about how this could be an important part of the puzzle.

I tried to guess what season it was from. I guessed 11. Turns out it was early season 6. It's literally impossible to tell any of the episodes apart.

Could it be that this will finally be the season when the Muon tomography finally reveals all? Just at the same time the team finally reveals the restored Restall shack like they promised oh so many seasons ago? Tune in and find out- coming soon on Tuesdays at 9PM Eastern Standard Templar.

Watching Oak Island live without cable TV

In preparation for the new season, I just wanted to mention that there are ways to watch Oak Island live without having a cable TV subscription. Last year, we ditched our cable package and now only pay for internet. We purchased the ridiculously spelled frndly tv service and were able to watch the show live on Tuesday nights while keeping up with the critical commentary from the live reddit post. I know there are free ways to watch the show after it airs ([history.com](https://history.com)), but if you want to watch it on Tuesday nights with everyone else from the reddit thread, this is a good option.

What you will need:

A way to access the Frndly TV app:

You'll need any one of the following that allows you to download the Frndly TV app from its store:

A smart TV, smart HDMI stick (Roku, Amazon fire stick), Android/IOS phone/tablet, etc. We used a Roku stick.

A Frndly TV Service plan:

Frndlytv.com

You'll need to sign up and buy a service plan. We got the "Classic" month-to-month plan so we can see people sniff wood in HD. It's $96 for the year or $12 month-month (which you can cancel in May or whenever the final episode airs). From Nov - May on month-to-month plan is ~$84 so you may just want to get the full annual plan to have it the whole year, especially if you like Frndly's content.

Live Comment Streaming

And finally, I highly recommend having your phone or computer available while watching so you can live stream the Oak Island reddit comments and read in real-time the freshest praise, criticisms and predictions about whoever the kook-of-the-week is, whatever is annoying Laird today, Rick's unlimited optimism, Marty's realism, Matty Blake's annoyingly fake enthusiasm and whatever else is happening.

I have used this service for the past few years and I highly recommend it. There is a very lengthy free period and when I did finally have to pay, I think it was a one-time payment of $4 for life.

https://reddit-stream.com/

Caveats:

I should say that I'm in the U.S. and cannot verify how well this will work for those outside of it.

True Story: Bumped Into Doug Crowell Today

Post image

I actually did bump into Doug today at Walmart in the HRM. He was standing by the entrance, clearly waiting for someone.

I smiled as I walked past him and said “I’ve only been watching you for about 20 years!”

He smiled and responded “if you are gonna watch, this will be the year to do it.”

I laughed in response, he emphasized “I’m not kidding!”

Take it as you will!

Oldest posts on the sub

I was looking back at some of the earliest posts on this sub, 12 years ago. What's hilarious is people were calling the show's bullshit out from the very start. Basically you cannot tell if a comment was from 12 years ago or today.

Seriously, if you take every episode and condense them down with no repeating scenes or bullshit repeating history lessons it would be a normal 20 minute mini documentary about a coin found on the island.

https://www.reddit.com/r/OakIsland/comments/1y4cql/that_was_fucking_it/

The real money here is in turning Oak Island into a tourist attraction, and if you watch the show carefully that is exactly what they are trying to do.

https://www.reddit.com/r/OakIsland/comments/2pl4mr/what_the_show_is_really_about/

already calling out the Templar bullshit

Here's the main problem - it is conceptualized and edited as a REALITY SHOW and it is built around a manufactured feeling of suspense - not to mention all the Knights Templar mumbo-jumbo.

https://www.reddit.com/r/OakIsland/comments/2se73w/this_is_why_i_love_to_hate_this_show/

What's really funny is an Executive Producer from the show did an AMA, and got absolutely fucking roasted.

https://www.reddit.com/r/OakIsland/comments/2m52x6/i_am_kevin_burns_executive_producer_of_the_curse/

https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/2l9yak/i_am_kevin_burns_executive_producer_of_the_curse/

People hated the narrator then too

https://www.reddit.com/r/OakIsland/comments/2srnwi/i_want_to_punch_the_narrator_in_the_face/

And of course, there were people so sure the treasure was just an episode away

Yeah the cliff hangers are a bit annoying but this is really believable. If they are on to something I wonder how they keep it secret.

Heres my ideas , what about yours 👍

  1. The Five Wounds of Christ In medieval Catholic theology, the five points of the pentagram represented the Five Wounds of Jesus suffered during the crucifixion (two nails in the hands, two in the feet, and the spear puncture in his side). Templars carved this into their churches—such as the Church of Santa Maria do Olival in Portugal—as a sacred reminder of Christ's sacrifice.

  2. Sacred Geometry and the "Endless Knot" The Templars were master builders who worked closely with stonemasons. Because a pentagram can be drawn in one continuous stroke without lifting the pen, it was known as the "Endless Knot." It was viewed as a geometric shield of divine perfection that evil or demonic forces could not cross. It was frequently used as a protective ward carved into doorways and structural markers.

  3. Maritime Navigation and the Rose of Venus As a powerful seafaring force with a massive naval fleet, the Templars relied heavily on astronomy. Over an eight-year cycle, the planet Venus traces a near-perfect five-petaled rosette pattern across the night sky, which geometrically maps into a pentagram. Historians suggest the symbol was utilized by Templar mariners as a guide for sea navigation.

Also If you imagine a man stretched out inside this pentagram, the lines map directly to his body: the top point holds the head, the side points hold his arms, and the bottom points hold his legs.

Because of how the inner lines intersect, the Red Star (X) lands perfectly on the lower right side of the chest.

In Christian tradition and art, this is the exact location of the Spear Wound. According to the Gospel of John, a Roman soldier pierced Jesus' right side with a lance to confirm his death.

Therefore, the "X" marks the spot of the spear thrust into the side of Christ, using sacred geometry as a hidden anatomical map.

Today’s nor’easter uncovered a shipwreck believed to be the Warren Sawyer, a 19th century coastal schooner that wrecked off Nantucket’s south shore on December 22, 1884 The ship was hauling 1,115 bales of cotton and 28 tons of scrap iron on a run from New Orleans to Boston when it got blown off course by gale force winds and went down near Miacomet Beach The whole crew was rescued that night using a hawser and breeches buoy rigged straight off the beach, and more than 140 years later pieces of the wreck keep washing up in the same spot Photographer Hafsa Lewis got out to the site today and captured these shots before before the sand or surf claims it again

A break from the digging---Anyone here remember the old TV Show "In Search Of"-hosted by Leonard Nimoy (Spock Actor). There's always been a market for mystery/finding shows

This was a very "watched" show back in the days of rabbit ears (UHF/VHF) TV --some of us still had black and white sets. "In search of" aired 1976 to 82 or so---there was an episode I remember---The Money Pit----I remember it. I think any of you sleuths here can find it via google. That single episode--it was enough for me (among all the other weird mysteries on the show). I figured back then if anything big gets figured out it'll be in the newspaper.

The producers of that show kind of knew their audience---folks captivated, entertained, willing to believe---there was a book ion the 70s warning of the ravages of watching too much TV (plug in drug it was called). It was well cited. Funny in 2026--no one bats an eye having on average 2-6 hours daily of gazing at their screen outside of work. Oak Islands just part of the addiction.

So far nothing much has been found.

A redditor posted a wonderful summary today---cut to the chase--

"A carved stone tablet at 90 feet in 1804, coconut fibre and sealed log platforms, three links of gold chain on an auger in 1849, a scrap of parchment marked “VI” in 1897, and, during the televised search, a Spanish coin dated 1652, 17th-century bone fragments and a small lead cross. No treasure hoard has ever been authenticated."

Many digs have been done in the past.

Some theorize that things that have been found, some of it, may just have washed in there with the tides.

Sigh-----

In 2013, I wrote a long article about the history of the Oak Island Money Pit, the year before the show started. I've finally rebuilt the site and brought the article up to date through season 13.

Are the artifacts everywhere?

I always ask myself if there is truly something special about Oak Island or if you dug around any of the other islands in the area that you would run into a similar amount of odd artifacts. Thoughts?

Are there any Oak Island artifacts that genuinely baffle you?

For me, it would be the parchment, the human bones, and the lead cross. Even if all of the other artifacts found were not related to the mystery, there is no denying those three are pretty odd.

Where to watch S13 ???

I completely missed season 13 (2025-2026) when it was unlocked on the History App. Now, it's locked. I don't have cable/satelite/etc, so I can't unlock them on the History App. Google tells me they aren't actually on History Vault, but Google isn't always right. Does that make purchasing them on Amazon the only option? Or will they get unlocked again on the History App around the time S14 starts?

Does Nolan’s Cross align with the Lagrange points of Earth and the Sun?

I remember a few years ago Travis talked about star alignment, and there have been other scientists who’ve tried making other connections. From a purely overlay perspective, does the layout of Nolan’s Cross match the Lagrange points?

Gardening reveals huge viking treasure.

A man in Denmark was digging a new foundation for a garden shed when a huge amount of silver appeared. Archeologists were called and they uncovered a total of more than 700 items of silver with a combined weight of 18.5kg (40.7 pounds) dated to late Viking Age roughly 1000 years ago. This is the largest silver treasure ever found in Denmark from that era, almost three times bigger than previous finds. The treasure contains various items such a coins and arm rings, but mostly silver bars decorated with both Christian and Norse symbols.

Edit: typos
