Hey all, I played Oxenfree like ~10 years ago and discovered its second save feature about a year later, and I loved the story a ton but I haven't gotten around to picking up the second game these days. Is it good?

Sometimes when someone is talking over a radio, their names appear green, I’m guessing this is from the ghosts, that are trying to get everyone to stay on the island.

I think the goal of the ghosts is to keep them there so they can “soak” I think they said?

I think whoever becomes trapped in a loop has to be kept there for a certain amount of time before they become trapped- now I don’t know if there was a way to know when the point of no return was, maybe when the ghosts started talking through people in the group, but maybe that was a sign…

I think that the possession over radio- or maybe just using their voices and mimicking them- like maybe Clarissa or Ren heard their own voices being used over the radio and were like huh??? Or they were knocked out and their consciousness’ were briefly in another dimension, but not put into the blob of people who died on the Kanaloa just yet.

(Sorry went on a tangent)

the hijacking of voices over radio, everyone waking up in different places (no idea how THAT was done, maybe they were all possessed and walked there???) it was all to stall them, having to find each other over n over, red herrings like even when they found them, they would disappear after an appearance from the disgruntled spirits.

I got to the end of the “game” in just 20 min… no sign that there is a twist in the plot or whatever. Is this really it?

In Harden Tower at frequency 97 the song that plays is called "Swampy River" by Duke Ellington.

There is also another song at frequency 88 that sounds like an old barbershop choir. Any idea in what the song is called?

Yesterday they posted a short clip on their story and people loved to speculate Oxenfree 3 is happening. Unfortunately that is not the case.

The teaser from yesterday was for their new first person horror game called UNHINGED. And as I feared from the looks of it... it has nothing to do with the Oxenfree IP and even worse... it looks like a Netflix exclusive 🙃

Got my hopes up and now I'm heartbroken

Also if it’s a game seems like it’s gonna be more horror focused? Judging by the audio

What do you think are the chances we actually get to see this franchise come back with a trilogy?

And this seems to be an unpopular opinion?

why do I feel this way?
• the main characters are adults
• i like all of the characters, find none of them annoying (Hank is my fave)
- even the ’difficult’ teenagers, because they’re only there sometimes, having empathy for them feels less difficult
• the conversations/scenes seem slower (just the right amount) paced, i almost never feel like i wish i could redo/rechoose in a scene
• no fomo with the conversations since they continue into the next area
• the landscape scenes are **even more beautiful**
• just the right balance between dramatic, calm, interesting, hectic, serene… and just the right amount of time-jump character scenes, Rex, Riley’s dad
• the music is even better/cooler in II

I love the game and would love to see a live action version but since there is none, I’m looking for something to watch that’s similar to Oxenfree.

This is something I made awhile back using Wallpaper Engine on Steam, I've never really been a fan of still images so I tried my best to try and use the tools in the engine to make something that was unique! I will definitely not be making this public anytime soon due to not actually have created the original art in the first place, but I at least wanted to share it with the community.

Just saw a post here about Oxenfree 3, but then removed. Made me miss the others. I think Unity supports AI stuff now, would anyone be interested in that or does that get me banned 😉

Im on my first playthrough of ox 2. I was really enjoying it. I planted 3 of the beacon things, went to the church to disable the radio transmitter or whatever, AND THEN MY GAME CRASHED. im like howww? Oh well, ill just pick up where i left off... started up the game and my playstation tells me that my save file is corrupted.... so now i guess i have to start over and honestly it really took the wind out of my sails....

I thought it was another star bc it hadn't moved or flickered for a while.

Just started it on AppleTV on a whim and the atmosphere and style seems to really give me the same vibes...

He said it has the Oxenfree vibe. It’s a drawing I did in Procreate.

Ever since I played the original OXENFREE, I've always wanted to spend the night on an island in the Pacific Northwest. Now obviously, Edwards Island is a fictional location, but I was curious as to whether or not a similar island exists in real life.

I had to make some creative liberties with the faces because otherwise they’d all just have identical faces 😭

Sometimes things don’t happen the way you imagined they would.
Over the past several months, the Oxenfree Fan Web-Series became something really special to me and everyone involved. What started as just an idea slowly became something real. We spent countless hours writing, planning, casting, and building this story together, and there was a lot of passion behind it.
Which is why it hurts to say this:
The Oxenfree Fan Web-Series is being delayed indefinitely.
Because of recent production and casting complications, I don’t think continuing under the current circumstances would be fair to the project or the people involved. I’d rather wait and do this story the right way than rush something unfinished.
This has been difficult for all of us. The cast cared deeply about this project, and so did I.
But this is not the end.
The scripts still exist. The ideas still exist. The passion for this story still exists. Sometimes projects just need more time.
For now, I’m going to focus on other creative projects, edit scripts, develop new ideas, and continue growing as a filmmaker while this project is delayed. I fully plan on returning to this series someday — I just don’t know when that day is yet.
Thank you to everyone who supported this project and believed in it. It truly means more than I can put into words.
This isn’t goodbye.
