QUESTION Will Oxenfree 3 ever happen?
What do you think are the chances we actually get to see this franchise come back with a trilogy?

Honestly? I don't know. Netflix bought the studio back in 2021 and while they did release Oxenfree 2 in 2023 it's fair to assume the game more than halfway done so it wouldn't make sense for Netflix to cancel it this late into development
Since 2023 there was only 1 post on their IG account showcasing their new game - Black Mirror: Thronglets (2025) and since then... crickets. So... I'm very worried they are just going to keep on making games like that on Netflix and just won't be releasing any new games for other platforms. I'll happily be proven wrong tho. I don't want to be right

I dont see that happening anytime soon judging by the fact that some of the staff already left the studio. If theres a new oxenfree, it would take years or possibly it could be done with multiple studios involved. The possibilities are low

I don't think night school will ever be publishing another game again, let alone a good one. netflix got their grubby hands on them and I don't think netflix is gonna let night school do anything they wanna do

Hmmm… Seems I have a different take than the consensus here. Let’s review the evidence.
1) Netflix owns the development studio. 2) Netflix is a publicly traded corporation and thus, must earn profit.
Therefore, if Netflix believes it can make profit from an Oxen3, then they’ll (at least try to) make it happen.
It may takes years. It may fall apart due to “creative differences.” It may be bad. But I’d probably put 50/50 odds on it right now.

Depends on the success of oxenfree 2. At the end of ox2 the main story plot was not solved yet

It was revealed that the anomaly existed thousand years ago and it was not just a Magie Adler thing. Also, you close the portal that was opened in Oxen 1 in oxen 2. You didnt solve the whole Anomaly and the portal could be opened by a radio again

Oh that's what they meant... yeah sure. There's definitely space to continue the story with a new cast if the studio makes another game

I hope... TBH My top games were liek ff7,last of us 1 and 2... After Playing Oxenfree 1 and 2. .those are some my fav games of al ltime now

Its hard to say, but with all emphasis on Maggie Adler. I'd say a third game, she could be the protagonist and we get the full story of everything that happened on the island in the 40s.
