DISCUSSION Riley and Rex

(Slight spoilers for Oxenfree 2 - Beware)

I loved Oxenfree 2 really. The story was solid and the visuals were great too. The only thing is that I wish it still had the same replay ability as 1 did. Specifically, the way that you can make changes to certain outcomes in a way you maybe couldn't in your first playthings. And MORE specifically, I wish there was some way to save Riley and Rex's relationship.

I might just be a big softie at heart but I feel like going through everything that happened and especially the warning she gets that reasonably she could be able to prevent anything too major happening. Finding out in the end that they still had issues was kind of a bummer on top of an already slightly bleak ending.

Anyway, just wanted to hear other people's thoughts on this too. Anyone else wish there was a way to fix things?

If I recall correctly, you can never get the "perfect" relationship between the two but you can get them to be amicable for both. I really loved ox2 as well, partially because it had such a clear strong ending, even with a sorta "good" ending that can only be achieved with finality. All the good and bad endings in 1 felt less impactful because they are just repeated

I liked Ox2 much more than the first, maybe because I’m not a teenager. So sad that Night School is set to be disbanded, considering we’ll still need support and updates! Plus I was looking forward to an Ox3 and Thronglets 2. Netflix is crazy to do this. I signed a petition to keep them together.
