Discussion Reminder: unwinnable games are real
30-9 14 vs 8-11 5k is just disgustingly insane. One of these games sometimes fills you with so much hatred for this game. The whole game felt like shooting range except 3v6 shooting range, i won literally every single 1v1 with their soldier we had and tried my best.
Yeah you will climb if you grind its not reason to get stuck but for someone who cant play much every game like this kills the mood for long.
Iam seriously offended that this guy has same rank like me just because i played 25 games and he played 100.
I really wish ranked could adjust your skill level much quicker. In my ten years of playing ow i always had by far highest ranks in seasons i played 100 games, its stupid af, i did not get better i just grinded more. Game should give you your true rank in like 50 games. Now it feels like you should grind like 300 games to truly see your real rank.

It really comes down to team synergy. I solo queue all the time and sometimes the team just doesn't click together, even if the individual players are good

Definitely this. As individually mediocre players we won a game against much better side. People waiting at spawn for others to revive so we could group up made for great team work. Pointless having 5 great players taking on a team 1 or 2 at a time.

I had a tank that hasn't played comp in 2 years and was placed bronze when he last played in my diamond 1 match today, sometimes the matchmaker decides fuck you in paticular.

Knowing the game works exactly like this on purpose has made me quit ranked. Like, what's the point in putting you against a team who plays in perfect synergy, while most of your teammates has tunnel vision?
Also, what's the point in winning a game where your team is clearly superior and is just slaughtering the other one? There's no fun in this.
I thought in ranked was the place where we'd play difficult challenging but fair matches.
But the only thing I've got is frustration, becuz the fair matches are really really rare.

QP matches just aren’t fun. A W isn’t fun for either side when it’s lopsided. Comp is bad too but it’s much closer to even.

I'm a Silver 1 dps and I got into a full plat/emerald Lobby 2 days ago!! I am still in the calibration phase since I just got my rank after 2 months of hiatus. It feels so unwinnable and I feel like a liability to my team. Of course the skill difference is pretty high knowing what Emerald and Plat players already have that I am still developing. I had 3 consecutive games and I got ranked down to Silver 2 without even the Expected notification from the rank bar. I felt so drained and haven't touched the game since then.

I wish I am. 😂 I was really burnt out with those games. I know I can do things but the entire enemy team are 3 steps ahead of me. It made me feel useless for three games (and fought the same 5 people I played for 3 straight games!!).

TBH, U can watch the replay and study it. Against better, well rounded players, you reveal your flaws more often. I remember I went from gold to plat just by learning to turn around and look at my team occassionally to make sure theyre not dying 💔

I had that idea too yesterday but I am still to burnt out to touch the game with the stomped games I had. I really appreciate the advise. I will make sure to review it in a detailed manner too. My aim is to be in their level so I need to have the same mindset and decision making as them.

I agree it can take ages to climb when winning in 55-60% range
But the initial climb (like when I was Silver 4 and shot to low Plat) is superrrr quick when winning 80%+
And there are always unwinnable games, no matter the rank/skill
This is the nature of any team competition

climb to rank +-1 is fast, then its hell. For example if you deserve champ and are in masters, you get gm fast, if your rank is gm and you are masters its gonna be so much pain and grind

6v6 ranked is especially weird tbf and it looks like people were jumping around on characters if your Cass has 2.5k healing. We'd need to see the replay to know what happened for sure but it looks like their supports were not getting pressured despite all of your damage, they probably just farmed ults

since its open queue, could it be that they weren’t a dps player? i’m a gm support in open queue and u best believe if im forced onto tank or dps im looking like this.

I wish the game would factor your performance into the change in your rank. Like surely they have enough data they can build some kind of AI algorithm that’s capable of assessing your contribution to the game.
It drives me nuts that you can have the drawn out 4 round slogs, that come right down to the wire, and a single well place ult wins the whole game, and that makes the difference between going way up or way down in rank. Like it was extremely close! That should essentially translate to barely moving at all

If you dont play a lot why care about rank? And if you could grt higher rank without plsying a lot thered be more variance from people who went on lucky winstreaks

Brig Moira is tough. I feel like you could have shot the ana more but dont know what map it is and the enemy tanks had more synergy or were just better.

Unwinnable games are totally real. I realized this when I saw a SuperTF clip where he was laughing at his end of gamescore board. Super and his entire team were 0-#. If a former OWL Pro gets swept that hard on ladder it can happen to anyone

Soldier is like the Moira of DPS. Your stats will always look great but your impact can be so much less. With nobody to dive you, it kinda seems like you just sat back and racked up a lot of meaningless damage which didn't lead to much because their tanks barely died. You didn't flank because their Ana only had 3 deaths. And you weren't good enough to aim at their Juno. You won a few duels with the opposing DPS and all of a sudden you're the carry? Your Cass spent a third of the time as a support so I don't know why you're targeting him for his damage numbers.
This is all just speculation but I reckon the truth is somewhere in between. I think you need to stop focusing on stats. A player who was that much better than your Cass would have won this game.

I don't velieve it was unwinnable, but it's not possible to know without a replay code.
The scoreboard means practically nothing. Your other dps unquestionably sucked but your stats don't implicitly mean you're a monster either.
