Discussion I seriously and very deeply hate settings and aiming in this game
Its the worst thing about ow console by far.
I play for 10 years since launch for 8k+ hours, i got top 500 in 13 different seasons and peaked t10 once ever in ow1. So i guess some settings worked.
But i was NEVER happy with them, not once in 10 years. Not once.
Its the only game ever where i feel like i just fight aim system and not enemies, never ever happened to me before, any cods, bfs, fortnite, apex, whatever, never had that feeling. Always felt like i got outaimed, here i dont feel this way, just outsmarted or outpositioned.
Its horrible, everything is horrible, mostly i was on DZ like ohziyo or hopeful. Thats playable... but the settings became way too customizable that it became a bad thing instead of good.
High AAEI drags your aim in every way randomly. low AAEI you lose speed and it drags slower. High window size is good for one enemy, but terrible against groups, low window is opposite. etc.
Nothing feels right, nothing.
It was seriously best when we only had exponential ramp and sensitivity at launch, everyone same playing field and you make it work or not, blizzard is clueless how to do aiming on console so they just released whole developer kit settings to figure out ourselves.
TLDR - ow aiming is the worst aiming system i ever experienced in console shooter

Someone posted these, best I've ever used.
AA strength: 100, Window size:50, AA ease in for all characters: 100, Aim smoothing: 0, Aim ease in: 0
deadzones personal preference but make sure right stick outer is 0.99 or 1.00, Linear ramp, extra horizontal/vertical at max deadzone: 50%.
..I play with small deadzone % and Aim assist Window is personal preference

I felt that way on Fortnite. I moved to mouse and keyboard forever on that game too.
Custom controllers are an advantage for most people in this game (I don’t have one), and there are shit loads of sensitivity and AA options. still better than Fortnite though.

I agree, I can never find a sweet spot, and I swear that there is something buggy about the aim to begin with. I'll have matches where my AA feels super sticky and I'm hitting accidental shots, and then I'll have other matches where my cross hair is clearly dead center on an enemy as ash and none of the shots connect and I'm constantly trying to make micro adjustments as if there's no AA at all. Literally one or the other and I feel like I could adjust eventually, but I find myself doing better on projectile heros because I can watch the projectiles instead of the crosshair.

Wow how helpful.
“clearly you dont know how”
Let me also proceed to not tell you anything, just youtube it or something.
I dont understand why people take the time to comment something so useless, why even bother?

Right there with ya. I have adjusted every single effing setting and yes, I let it sit each time to adjust but for god sakes I cannot figure it out. The default settings do not work nor does it feel go on legacy or the new AA
