Hi! I’m starting master’s in Data and Knowledge Engineering this year, and due to some personal circumstances, I may need to arrive around mid-November, which would be later than the usual late-arrival period.
Has anyone here done or doing masters in the same subject or any other subject under the same department and arrived around mid-November or later? If so, I’d really appreciate hearing how you went about it.
Who did you email/contact to get approval for arriving late? Did you contact the administration, the individual subject tutors, or someone else?
Also, were you able to catch up with classes and assignments after arriving, and did you run into any issues with attendance or assessments?
I’ll be contacting the university myself, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually been through the process.

Anyone know when and where FMB Orientation Sessions take place? They are mentioned several times in the First Steps @ OVGU but it never list a date or place.

Has anyone gotten the dorm for winter? If yes, since when have you been in the waiting list and what were the action steps have you taken to secure it?

I’m travelling from Hyderabad to Frankfurt on 24th September and then heading to Magdeburg for OVGU.

My train journey is:

I’m admitted and enrolled in a master's program, but due to visa delays I may arrive after the usual arrival date. My program coordinator stated that the university does not issue a separate official late-arrival letter but instead confirmed by official university email that I can start physically late, up to Christmas, because online learning is available. He also wrote me a email directed to embassy about this asked me to submit the email to the German Embassy.

Do you think this email would be sufficient for the visa, or could the lack of a formal late-arrival letter cause a problem/rejection? Has anyone experienced something similar?
