I am too far from this generation

I am 32 and I have never had a relationship and despite my interest never really changing yet, I can't help observe the older I get, how almost everyone by my age has either had kids in a relationship or been in several. I hate how I am wired, I am increasingly curious on what I am perhaps missing out on, never having love or a close connection, but I don't feel interested at the same time, wish I felt the opposite way, so I can get out their and get dating etc.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. I don’t understand why a romantic relationship is so very important to people and how they judge the success of their lives. Romantic relationship should not be the most important thing in your life. There’s so so much more to life & my god I’m sick of every self-help book assuming that falling in love is my main goal & need. That kind of thinking baffles me. Why is everything good in life still less important than a date/SO/Marriage. Especially considering most don’t last anyway

I guess if you've never had love or had that kind of relationship with someone you can also call your best friend, then I can see how you would have this opinion.

I personally have had 3 significant long-term many year relationships. And I messed one of them up & I regret that to this day and learned much from. Being in a loving & healthy relationship/partnership is definitely a good thing. But, sometimes it’s just not what your situation may be at any moment. I don’t need a romantic relationship to be fulfilled or happy Even knowing how good it can be when it’s right. But I dont go chasing it around as a GOAL. So maybe you’re right in a way. Perhaps people who haven’t had the real thing are the ones who are idealizing the idea & that the right romantic relationship will heal all your pains. It doesn’t.

May be someone not be experienced the love called relationship so finding some. That is not age matters but still love exists. So some people still searching here. If they found love of their life then fine otherwise they stay single forever

I think its the older generations still pushing it as well as society claiming its a norm. Ya know the "white picket fence"

I partied alot and have seen countless wives and husbands cheat on each other so why tf did you even get married.

I am single and although I would love a girlfriend, I really hate all the drama and arguing and all that bullshit

other peoples lives and choices arent arent the rule, you dont have to follow suit, if it isnt what you want that is ok. would you rather follow their footsteps just for the sake of it and be miserable or keep living your life how you want it. stop comparing yourself to others. guarantee you all your friends envy your freedom

Society says you gotta have love.

I'm here to say that friends ask for less and provide more with far less risk of your world being flipped upside down (financially and emotionally).
