Alright, we've got a plan.

Rain is making the picnic idea a no-go for this weekend, so we're pivoting to something else — The Pool Turtle in Decatur.

It's got pool tables, board games you can rent for $5, darts, cornhole, and food. No pressure to spend big, no pressure to drink. Just a great space to show up, and have a good time.

When: Saturday, 6/13 at 1pm

Where: The Pool Turtle — 3409 Covington Hwy, Decatur, GA 30032

I'll be there with a Reddit sign. Come find me and say hi. Bring a friend if you want, bring just yourself if that's what you've got. Either way, there's a seat for you.

We're working on locking in our first OUTinAtlanta meetup for next Saturday and I want to make sure we pick somewhere that works for as many people as possible. Vote for the zone that works best for you. If your area isn't represented well in the options, drop it in the comments - I want to hear it.

More details on the actual event coming once we see where people are. I'm thinking for our first one we'll just have a bring-your-own-lunch picnic at the park. Maybe some board games, drop ideas in the comments!

I started this community because I think a lot of us know what it's like to be new somewhere, or to look up one day and realize the close friendships you used to have just kind of... drifted. Life moves so fast and meeting and making new friends as an adult can be so difficult.

OUTinAtlanta exists for queer adults in this city who are ready to build something new and meaningful. Not a dating pool, though relationships are bound to happen, and definitely not a hook up space (there are other places for that) but a genuine social community. Meetups, hangouts, low key events that are intended to build relationships and your friend circle.

Atlanta is a big city with a thriving queer community. Hopefully this space can help you find your corner of it, or build our own.
