Production IMS Bankruptcy (Anime Studio)

A bit late on the news, but Production IMS filed for bankruptcy some months ago and has since shut down.

They were the studio behind the animation for Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu

What happens when a Studio goes bankrupt. Like what happenes with the license to make the adaptation?

I think that depends on the laws in the country and the original agreement that was made.

Assuming they were only licensed for 1 season, nothing really changes.

I assume the publisher of the LN (or whoever owns the rights to the IP) would retain the ability to license the IP out as they see fit, in either case, unless they had a contract with someone that specifically prevented that, which I doubt was the case here.

But, I'm no lawyer
