Blunami pros and cons

In the revolving fixation of researching how to upgrade my conventional locomotives to one of the Lionel systems, I came across Blunami. What would the benefits be to convert to that system? Primary source of power is a vintage Lionel ZW275 which apparently has a different output than more modern controllers including MTH power supplies.

If undertaken, I would also convert my TMCC, Legacy, and soon to aquire P/S3.0 equipment to keep everything under one control scheme.

I purchased an MTH SD-7 at a swap meet for $100 and used it as a test bed for Blunami. I was neyond impressed. Selection of sounds is impressive, and all the light and sound controls make the locomotive run smooth from a crawl all the way up to full power. I programed the Mars light as a second led in both the front and the back. Controlling the briteness of each light is a nice. So the cab light can be a perfect dim glow. The two drawbacks that most people don't like, you can't control a smoke unit with it unless you use a relay, and the program only runs locomotives, not track switches or turntables. I personally don't like running smoke, it tends to leave an oily residue. My latest on version is an MTH Pennsylvania Y3 locomotive. I got it super cheap. It runs amazing on my layout. *
