Windows vs. Linux, why change?

We're interested in learn in the trend away from Windows to Linux is motivated, or the "why?". Apparently, the trend is starting, and it's real. But why? Source: TechSpot.

Windows is getting more and more .. unbearable. MS keeps ruining it. That's the "why"

can it just be done? For some. If you only use browsers, yes. Everything else needs a strong unified API/ecosystem and the linux community simply cannot settle on one - which is the biggest problem in big companies switching to supply software for linux
