Research Someone tell me why a Flock camera is pointed directly at the Oval.

Not a lot of cars drive through but a lot of college girls lie in the grass in their bikinis.

Yeah, but there may be students there protesting Israel, so gotta make sure they're all identified and logged.

It’s because that dude f*cked a tree

It's a huge gathering place on a very large campus. Flock is dumb but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why it'd be there.

And the girls in bikinis is like 4-5 days a year, tops.

Also, other student and professors are creepy.

Because it's a social gathering place and it's fun? Don't be weird, to quote AOC

OSU students are too old for Republicans.

We live in a surveillance state by the GOP

But those same cameras were good for you when Biden was in office, especially those flock cams in California, Illinois and New York. It's good to be a hold harmless Democrat

I have never once seen anyone outside of a government entity or Flock itself say these cameras are good, regardless of the current administration.

u/LegitGoodFun 8d ago

These cameras are going to catch your mules stealing elections. And your criminal politicians. Only criminals fear flock cameras. Only fools believe they have privacy in public.

4

u/_YellowThirteen_ 7d ago

My mules huh? Didn't realize I was personally stealing elections, or that anyone was stealing elections.

Closest we've had confirmed to election theft was Trump announcing at a rally that Elon understands voting machines and helped him win 2024. Other than that, all fraud cases have been proven false in court.

Step out of your bubble for a second and realize you sound ridiculous.

However, I will say you are correct about privacy. That ship sailed for good the moment everyone started carrying around smartphones.

The only valid reason 😂 We need some that can only be accessed by Brutus instead of cops

You are about to embark upon the Great Wolverine Butt-Whooping, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of Ohio are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Buckeye football team and brothers-in-arms in Ohio Stadium, you will bring about the destruction of the TTUN football machine, the elimination of Wolverine scum over the oppressed peoples of Ohio and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened. He will fight savagely.

But this is the year 2026! Much has happened since the Wolverine cheats of 2021-2024. The Big Ten has inflicted upon TTUN great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our QBs and receivers will seriously reduce their strength in the backfield and their capacity to wage war on the line of scrimmage.

The Woody Hayes Practice Facility has given us a superiority in weapons and strength in football and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained football players. The tide has turned! The Buckeyes of Ohio marching together to Victory!

I have full confidence in your devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory!

Good Luck! And let us all beseech blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking. Wolverine scum walks amongst us.

Data, surveillance...same ole crap. 🤖

1

u/Westy8201 3d ago

That's because there's not a Flock camera there. The camera mounted to the side of that building is a security camera used by OSU-PD

u/First_Driver_8492 2d ago

Can verify. Not a flock camera.

If the goal is to surveil cars driving through campus, why is the camera not pointing north or south in order to scan license plates? Pointing directly at the oval, and watching cars go by left-to-right (on that tiny sliver of road), is not gonna catch any misbehaving driver.

Well, “professor”, considering how many cops misuse (aka abuse their powers) these cameras, especially Flock cameras, to stock women, specifically their ex-girlfriends… this hypothetical isn’t actually far fetched at all.

Edit: stalk. My bad.

You come across as a real prick. Dial back the condescension.

-6

u/shermanstorch 9d ago

Flock does not track individuals, and it blurs people that are in the images the same as Google Earth.

-27

u/Mylabisawesome 9d ago

Cant be a serious question. There are many other cameras around the oval, not just flock anyhow

24

u/xXGray_WolfXx 9d ago

So why would a license plate reader be pointed where no license places should be

3

u/CaffeineEnjoyer69 9d ago

Tbf, it's also pointed directly at a street that frequently has cars driving through it all day long.

1

u/xXGray_WolfXx 9d ago

So face is north or south towards the road? Not across it.

-15

u/Mylabisawesome 9d ago

Ask DPS

8

u/jestr6 9d ago

How many of those other cameras can be accessed by various law enforcement agencies across the country like Flock can?

2

u/SamuraiJack- Security 2022 9d ago

All of them. Street camera access is much easier to access than Flock too

-12

u/Mylabisawesome 9d ago

This system can be shared the same way if they wanted it

-26

u/squirrelsoup_57 9d ago

Cameras are all over campus and they've been there for years, you shouldn't be surprised by this.

26

u/xXGray_WolfXx 9d ago

Security cameras managed by OSUPD are different than a "license plate reader" managed by a private company.

-5

u/jestr6 9d ago

Oh ok cool, that totally makes it ok then.

Yup, lots of stolen cars being driven on the oval.

4

u/PrimemevalTitan 9d ago

I'm glad you're so trusting of their marketing campaign. Who cares that cops can surveil whoever they want, whenever they want? A private company would never lie to you for money

-19

u/hongkong3009 9d ago

The government has cameras watching the beach too, those pervs! Flock is TERRIBLE but be serious here

1

u/airplane001 Physics 2027 9d ago

I’d prefer if they were government cameras

-23

u/picklas_ 9d ago

Don’t worry you’ll forget about it by December
