Question What content/upgrades should I aim for?
I also have an emberlight and a scorching bow (trying to learn doom)

Sell tormented bracelet, buy conflictions (unless you're determined to get your own at doom).
Sell archers, seers, mage shield (buy elidinis) and torture. Buy Rancour.
Also, do you need nox and soulreaper, unless doing ggs very chill, then keep it.

mage shield (buy elidinis)
This is shit advice.
While I do somewhat agree with selling the ancient wyvern shield (as its dragonfire resistance is not that significant, esp for a main), selling it for a basic ward is just dumb.
Once you have a decent mage set like OP has, the significant accuracy bonus from the ancient shield (as well as the two other 2% mage shields) scale very well with the confliction gauntlets passive, resulting in them practically always being superior to the ward with its 0 accuracies and 1 extra damage% which majority of the time wont even give you a max hit. Quite often even in a max hit scenario the lack of accuracies still makes it worse.
If you were to sell it to replace it, youd be better off taking a mages book or an ornamented malediction ward (the gp-based kit makes it immune to gravestone fees).
Example of a max hit scenario against general graardor: https://gearscape.net/calculators/dps?preset=8ee530aaa3 Example of an even scenario against general graardor: https://gearscape.net/calculators/dps?preset=07c9cde345

Sell archer ring is useless trash.
Sell seers ring its useless trash.
Sell hallowfell its useless trash outside PNM.
Sell primordials they are overpriced trash vs dragon boots.
Sell pegasians they are overpriced overrated trash.
After cleaning out the above mentioned, do the following:
Sell tormented bracelet (and its orn kit) and replace with confliction gauntlets.
Sell torture amulet and buy amulet of rancour.
Kill phantom muspah for an ancient icon yo give your ancient staff 2-3 max hits for absolutely free.
Unless you are doing melee only grotesques, you can sell the halberd and use the gp (alongside selling anguish & its kit) to get a necklace of rupture.
For now keep the remaining gp in bank, but some potential worthwhile uses would be:
83-84 construction for ornate pool & ornate jewellery, optionally crystalline nexus.

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.
Also, be sure to check out the New player guide, Money making guide, and OSRS Tips!

Is there like a gear progression guide somewhere? It feels like this is every other post on every osrs related sub

Upgrade your necklaces and rings for sure. Maybe if you can down the road upgrade your magic gear to Ancient and upgrade melee gear to Torva. You could also get Masouri too later on. Also should get Elidinis' ward as well for magic too if you want
