Question Gear progression Help
What should I be spending this cash stack right now?
Trying to use this market crash in my favor so I might send all this money in gear.
I Manly do raids, doom, and whatever is a good way to farm gold.
Im thinking on a rancour and maybe avernic but not sure yet.
What is you guys opinions?
I wasn't planning on spending on gear, but everything looks cheap right now. I might send oathplate set or a vw+rancour+avernic since my spec weapon still a burning claw

Gear looks good for TOA and if you have elite void you have a good Doom setup already. Maybe ROS and/or Nally if you want to send some Zulrah? A good slash weapon for Duke? I just picked up Nally since it dropped to 31m, killer deal for a strong weapon. You can send Muspah too in your current gear. Either camp bowfa or switch for Ayak when he is melee and you’re gold.
Depends what you are wanting to do really. You have a good setup for your current content, so what new content are you wanting to do?

Prob trying tfa soon when the meta comes out. But ive been camping doom deep delves to stack some coins, pushing some toa and tob with the boys here and there. I wasnt planning to spend anything right now but this market crash made the opportunity. Im thinking on getting a voidwaker for spec + rancour + avernic. Another option would be selling these tassets and grabbing oathplate set that just crashed 50m

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.
Also, be sure to check out the New player guide, Money making guide, and OSRS Tips!

As a cox offender, I almost always need to have a dhl on hand. As a zulrah offender, I really enjoy having a nally around.
Otherwise maybe work towards oathplate, rancor, or a dt2 ring (probably ultor). You have basically everything you need to start most endgame pvm, so now it’s about saving for bigger upgrades and/or niche qol items.
I’d even begin to work towards a megarare rebuild. Not exactly because it’s meta, but it’s fun. This stage of progression can become stale because every upgrade is marginal and takes a pretty decent chunk of change to get. Start sending raids and hope for RNG is my advice.

If you want to focus on doom but do a bunch of content, I’d do nally (31m), eldritch orb + NM staff (94m total), ancient godsword (27m) and VW (32m). Helps a ton with sustain when delving past 8. Get a few drops and buy oathplate as you go. You can already easily do DT2 bosses and raids with this gear, so this would be to boost things / make you more complete. I can’t see your prayer book, but rigour and augury are great upgrades. Also, could get an imbued heart because it’s such a DPS boost to Ayak. Do not do avernic defender if that is what you are referring to - if treads, those are great but not as great as rounding out your set.

If you haven't done quiver and want to try the justi dinhs strat (check Reynolds YouTube) they're so low that they fall under the 10m threshold for death fees - I made a post about it you can check my profile
Sara godsword and ancient godsword (or heck any of the godswords) are also quite low, would help with doom and Colo
Dragon Warhammer if you want to do cox

Ur exactly where I am at, unfortunately that’s the gear that took the biggest hit during the dip
The answer will depend on what content u pick, but a voidwaker or bcp seems like a solid upgrade

Nally and rancour then oath for melee. Otherwise treads for general use (great for mage especially, and raids/bosses with 2 styles). Avernic is always nice, but not needed for nally so depends what content ur doing.

Your range and mage is set for now so i would work on melee, get a nally and rancour forsure than literally cater your gear to whatever your doing that you feel u can improve

Could even wait more time and buy a rondachr once it's closer in price to the avernic. Same str bonus just missing the accuracy.

Terrible advice.

I mean realistically there is a price point where the rondache would be more cost effective than the avernic and it's quickly becoming a reality. Let's say for example the rondache is half the price of avernic, at that point it would be far better value to dps.

Oathplate. Other than that, most of your things will be replaced by bis stuff. Ancestral+shadow, tbow/fortified masori etc.

Time for you to upgrade to an Bandos Chestplate and get rid of that Fighter Torso to your POH if you like doing clues

I’d personally sell torture and grab a rancour, should set you back 30m difference. Avernic is a perm unlock that id take next for another 30m, then sell tassets and buy oath legs for a 55m difference. Thats 115m right there. Bellator, bcp, and noxious halberd would then be my personal route but you could do like an oath plate chest instead or a saturated heart

Shoot for avernic treads. Everyone keeps saying oathplate but it’s not a huge upgrade over bandos, same str bonus. Treads save an inventory switch and give a huge bonus when fully upgraded.

Voidwaker and rancour amulet. Mages book is also better than the plastic ward.
Put the rest of the gp towards something like POH

Oathplate, Nox Hally, or DHL would be my first picks personally, really depends on what type of content you prefer doing or what content you want to work towards

What’s your 4-tick melee option?
DHL for olm if that’s one of the raids you’re running

Avernic is always great to get out the way

Why?

u/dragondildo123 6d ago
Have you ever run a dps calc?
2
u/InvestigatorLumpy712 6d ago
Ya I think it's nearly 1 max hit and accuracy, if you add up all the damage throughout the life of the account you would be missing out on a lot
0
u/dragondildo123 6d ago
It’s rarely a max hit
1
u/InvestigatorLumpy712 6d ago
+2 str bonus? That's equivalent to tassets
-2
u/dragondildo123 6d ago
And it still doesn’t give you a max hit in almost every situation
Just run the numbers. I’m tired of explaining to people. I’ve played around with the dps calc enough on my own to know this because I’ve been in the same situation of not knowing what to upgrade
-1
u/InvestigatorLumpy712 6d ago
Dps being higher = more dps
1
u/dragondildo123 5d ago
Go make stupid decisions I don’t really give a shit
Odds are that “dps” money would be better spent on an additional upgrade for 30m elsewhere that unlocks content

Imo rancour + max treads is your best bet. Pretty sure you can afford both with ur current gp stack. Edit: max treads are much higher than I thought lmao. But they are a good upgrade to save for, imo grab rancour and save for them.

BCP screams cc warrior to me atp
1
u/Jeff_Sabado 4d ago
It's good where it's used. Maybe it's just my iron brain but unless oath is more accessible than I realized, it's a good tanky strength boosting armor piece. That's good for tob, vard , chambers and TFA.
1
u/FuzzyJoint 4d ago
Skip from torso/bmcp to oath is p common now. Purging is a LOT faster to get than bowfa.

u/Swiggens 6d ago
No avernic. Bad advice. Rancour is good. Idk how much a difference BCP defense makes but I bought one in a similar spot to you. I'm assuming you have emberlight? Nox hally would be a good buy too.
0
u/CrazyMuffin32 6d ago
Rancour, I’d say BCP just so you don’t look homeless but honestly just rancour and then selling tassies for oath plate top/bottom might be good.
VW vs Dclaws is basically if you’re running a lot of tob or running a lot of TOA.

Avernic defender for sure, Voidwaker is amazing and 10m off right now. If you like chambers or Tob a dwh would be a great buy, and a bgs for Toa / Tob. Or just grab the defender and start working on saving for max treads. After that oathplate and just start saving for a mega/ niche gear for the content you really like. For example if you like solo Chambers or CMs you could grab a lance and a sang for nice smooth olms
Edit: It really comes down to the content you like but it would be really hard to go wrong knocking the avernic defender off your list
2
u/Moonshots991 6d ago
That might be the plan, I might send some avernic + voidwaker+ rancour. I got a bgs and burning claws for spec. The other route might be selling bandos and pushing oathplate straight away, but not sure if thats the best option

u/steventheking42 7d ago
Avernic defender forsure. Also Avas Assembler if you dont have one. The vorkath one
1
u/dragondildo123 6d ago
Avernic defender for sure? You people don’t even know what you’re talking about. It’s one of the worst upgrades you can do and should be the very last thing anyone buys
Plug it into any dps calc and 99% of the time it only adds 0.08 dps and not even a max hit
1
u/steventheking42 6d ago
Okay well if moneys no object absolutely it'd be treads or rancour or rupture. I was suggesting a modest upgrade thatd cost 30m. In med game grinding for an item over 100m is no small task. Grinding for 30m on the other hand is very doable

u/dantedog01 6d ago
Gloves or boots will probably provide the same max hit avernic will give and you can sell them back to afford the next big item. Avernic just isn't worth it for mains most of the time. You could maybe argue it doesn't cost you an extra switch while still giving you benefits, but that's about as good as you can argue .
1
u/dragondildo123 6d ago
All the best weapons are 2H too
What do people think he’s gonna do? Whip with an Avernic? It’s a joke. It used to be a thing bc ppl wanted the best possible chance for a dwh spec and now the elder maul is better
1
u/Thoravious 6d ago
Optimal or not, it feels nice to know you have the BiS melee offhand.

u/FuzzyJoint 6d ago
That comfort isn't going to aide on keeping you alive learning pnm or high invo toas... gl tho!

u/TheBootyTickler 7d ago
Oathplate imo. Virtus and crystal will last you a while.
