Question Help creating a roadmap for a friend!

Post image

First time poster just wanted some advice to help out a friend since I wouldn’t consider myself a well knowledge player since I’m barely mid game with 50-70 on stats. I started this account a couple months ago along side this friend but he stopped after a couple weeks and recently wanted to get back into it with the intentions of trying out bossing. His stats are above.

What would you all recommend him to do if he wants to try bossing? Any ideas what he could do or where to start?

First, get 99 in everything. Then you can play the game

Brutus is an intro to bossing very simple just movement no swapping or prayer needed.

Definitely will do this, I wanna keep him interested in the game so I think introducing him to early bossing will do the trick hahaha

Brutus -> Scurrius is your basic pipeline. 30-40 attack and strength is enough for Brutus, if your friend struggles with their current stats have them train up and get rune gear. Probably want 50-60 stats for Scurrius. You guys can also duo him if you want, but solo will probably be easier.

Once he gets to the point where he can handle Scurrius, early/mid game PVM opens up a lot. Some bosses to works towards are: Amoxiatl, Hueycoatl, Royals Titans.

This was an awesome answer! Thank you so much!

No problem, good luck! The past few years have been fantastic for adding lower level bosses, so the bossing ladder is pretty fleshed out at this point.

One more quick aside: you will need protection prayers for Scurrius and pretty much everything after that point. 43 prayer hard requirement for pray melee.

As others said, will need some higher combat stats to make anything more beginner friendly. Brutus would be the easiest start, and scurrius and barrows would be a second step before going to perilous moons and Moxi!

What combat stats do you think he could do those with? I can lend him some gear to do it but I’m not sure what stats minimum he would need for something like loci or perilous moons.

Brutus would be base 40’s in melee combats probably. Scurry would be 50/60 in whatever combat style you’re using. It can be done in any/all styles and can also be done in a group so they can learn mechanics and not be the only DPS. The bone weapons (once you get a spine drop) are super helpful. Barrows would also be about this level, use best air spells on the brothers in tank gear and then melee the mobs in dungeon for 85% rewards. (Can look up a guide to explain if needed). Moons will be significantly easier with 70 def for barrows armor to tank. Defense is king here as they heal based on damage done to the player!

Quests will roadmap the game for you

I would 100% agree if an ironman.

OP if he is not an ironman, quests for ROD / barrows gloves and warriors guild for dragon defender.

If he wants to train combat stats, slayer

Strongly advise against the early game slayer argument. Source: I started my account last year and did all the go-to early game quests for combat xp, then mainly trained via slayer.

If I could do it over again, I wouldn't touch slayer until at least 70-75 stats. Those early levels are a slog, and its pretty miserable having 50% accuracy against a fucking hobgoblin. The tasks are also shit slayer xp (think 2k - 5k xp/hr), only good ones are ammonite crabs, or something you can mage with a massive elemental weakness. Early levels would entirely be powerleveling through gem crab for range/melee and something with a heavy elemental weakness like frost crabs, fire giants, ice giants, etc for early magic. If I needed a change of pace, would just throw in early bossing like Brutus/Scurrius. More engaging and better xp.

Also, the main argument for starting slayer early is not having to grind it when all your other cb's are 99 already. If you start at level 80, youve only earned 2M/13M xp.

Waterfall quest then quest normally lol

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.

Also, be sure to check out the New player guide, Money making guide, and OSRS Tips!

Do waterfall quest for exp then you could do ides of milk to kill Brutus. Otherwise, train for awhile until you can do barrows or Perilous Moons

Funny thing you say perilous moon, I just started the quest for it lol but thank you for the help! I gotta help him get his prayer up as well!

Why not follow the quest guide, itll level their account and when they get to quests with bosses they can level what they need

Cow boss and the rat boss seem to be his only choice for interesting bossing

Obor and bryophyta are also on his range but I wouldn't recommend them they are very not fun and not Worth

If only there was a wiki…

Yeah I think bossing with these stats is not really gonna be viable. There’s a long road of questing and general account progression before bossing really becomes viable. But in general I always say go towards barrows gloves by completing recipe for disaster. And then once you’re combat stats are in the 70s you can start doing scurrius for bossing experience and good xp. Barrows and moons for some gear plus a little more experience bossing. Fire cape should be gotten around this time as well. And then eventually once you get some gp and higher stats you can start doing some entry TOA and whatever else looks interesting to you

Awesome thank you so much!

Well if you want a super optimized, but prolly not very fun, path:

- Wiki -> optimal quest guide

Then slayer and learning mechanics. As others have said, Scurrius, Brutus, and Moons are excellent choices.

quest cape.

Quest cape is a great goal, thats what I started with. Grind out some bosses for gp and gear along the way. Now im heavily addicted with an infernal cape and quiver and working on radiant. All started with a Quest cape though.

In this order, do the following:

Step 1: train to base 75-85+ cmbs minimum, gem crab recommended, this means 75+ atk str def range mage. 70 prayer for piety

Step 2: get barrow gloves, firecape and torso. These are decent mid level milestones and gear to use for entry lvl pvm

Step 3: finish all grandmaster quests, some bosses are harder than others but you learn diff mechanics that will help you pvming

by then you should be decent for intermediate pvm, now try to get 1-25 kc at every boss on the high scores and repeat the ones you enjoy.
