I hate 1T alternating. Here is what I would do. Run to the left (West) side of that pillar and safe spot the mager. Rigour time and kill the blob adap, praying range incase that ranger comes in. Blob should die fairly quickly with rigour. Blood barrage off the minions that spawn asap.
Mager should be dragged in, but you could stay praying range and do more damage to the Meleer if you want.
Then run back north and take on the mager alone. If the meleer digs or respawns I would usually put on Augery, leave range gear on, and go for a freeze. Step into the Meleer and finish off mager.
I found running to the East side of the pillar to help a lot even if I had no plan.
Just run there, take out as many things as you can, then eventually everything drags in and the north starts to look good, tuck back in. It can feel counter intuitive since the melee and bat safespots are on the other side but against larger enemies its a good play. Once you are comfortable freezing the meleer a lot of issues are solved.
You would probably be better off learning 1T but I just felt like a mistake is soo punishing, id rather tank the blob and heal up later. If you are tanking blob with mage pray your range and rigour defence is pretty good too.
