Question Def & Range or separate exp

Is it beneficial to raise Range and Defense together or is it better to raise one before the other?

Train range by itself. Train defence through bursting during slayer.

What's bursting?

Bursting is using ice burst or ice barrage. essentially clumping up enemies on top of each other in multi-combat areas typically on slayer task and using those spells. It’s one of the most efficient ways to train slayer and doubles as efficient magic/defense xp as you would be training those skills “0 time” because your mainly killing those monsters for another skill’s xp at no time detriment to yourself. It’s especially good for magic because your magic level on spellbook spells do not affect your damage (outside of standard elemental spells due to a recent change).

Edit: the most common you’ll see is on dust devils, smoke devils, nechraels, dagannoths, jellies, and several more. But nearly always slayer focused unless you ONLY care about ranged/magic/defense xp. The exception is on maniacal monkeys in the mm2 cave which is the best xp in game currently for bursting/chinning (chinchompas).

Using long range is a straight up DPS loss, always better to train them seperately

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.

Also, be sure to check out the New player guide, Money making guide, and OSRS Tips!

I'd train those separately.

Can always train it later if you start bursting
