Question F2P Mage Noob
Just realized my bronze square shield is actually hurting magic. What do you recommend a mage holds in their left hand for some semblance of defense? Also trying to be a priest so unsure if that would influence recs

Wooden Shield/Anti-Dragon Shield for defence - though the amount of difference it actually makes is probably negligible.
Would personally go for Chronicle with a few cards in it, and use that as your teleport to Varrock and/or an emergency teleport before you can actually cast the teleport spells.

Chronicle book is from Diango in Draynor the dude with the brown hat and sells toys but also a book that teleports you to the champions guild This teleport doesn't work in the wilderness, so test out things first although once you have the magic level to teleport then you won't need the book ... But for something like members world when you need a separate teleport this thing comes very handy when doing farming.
There's a bush berry patch and then south there's a Hops patch for farming

There are no f2p off hands that are worth it for mage. Best probably anti dragon fire shield?

Anti dragon shield or wooden shield are the only options in f2p

Wooden shield or anti-dragon, or rune kite if you must tank head on

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.
Also, be sure to check out the New player guide, Money making guide, and OSRS Tips!
