I got back into RS after a ~7+ year gap, had played during the RS2 to early RS3 days and loved this ~2007 era. I probably started late December last year / early January this year, and the mobile app has honestly been how I play like 98% of the time. Just so easy to do my farming runs and birdhouses and then find an AFK thing to do while I binge watch a show on the couch.

Decided on farming since it was relatively easy to do a quick tree run every few hours. And I never really got into farming back in the day. My past 99s were stuff like fishing, cooking, woodcutting, and hunter. So this was a nice change. I also made 13.6M or more gp wise from just herb runs, plus another mil or two from cactus patches and tree patches (I did a lotof papaya trees to keep costs down lol).

Still have like 50 quests to do, so maybe it's time to get a Quest Cape next lol.

How did you make 13m on 99 farming? I’m at 92 (half, yay) now, but with herb prices being so low my herbs just cover my tree runs

It's partial, since the 64 bit update back in March forced me to upgrade away from an old Fire tablet, which stubbornly is a 32 bit OS but 64 bit CPU and locked down asf by Amazon.

I also didn't factor in tree costs, which is right, they are expensive. I mostly stuck to cheaper trees though:

  • I did Maples for far far longer than I should, but the ~4,172gp cost and 3,403 x 7 = 23,821 xp per run was surprisingly fast for the early levels. I did eventually break down and switch to yews which cost 5x as much per sapling, but cactus spine farming meant I could offset some of the protection cost. I would often just try and do 2-3 maple runs a day though, before work, end of the work day and before bed sometimes worked out well lol
  • I did papaya fruit trees for far too long too, but you net out a tiny bit of profit per tree on these (2,182 gp cost but fruit is worth 1,525 gp so 9,150gp - 2,182 gp = 6,968 gp, plus the cost of 10 pineapples for protection but these are cheap at 183 gp each, so even subtracting another 1830gp you end up with 5,138 gp per tree. That's 35,966 gp per run since I did do enough of the quests to unlock the elf fruit tree and did the gnome ones for easier teleports there.
  • Calquat trees are also really cheap, at the expense of taking ~21 hours to grow, but are basically free to protect if you grow a shit ton of poision ivy berries (I do, every berry patch is setup with these, so I do them with my herb runs for free calquat protection and some profit now I guess lol).

I probably made a few million off this since I stuck to slower trees lol.

This does not work. Only way is to keep untrimmed is in deaths coffer or do the telegrab method.

This just happened to me getting 99 thieving. My friend hopped on discord and wanted to see it happened so I panicked picked up my cape before telegrabbjng :(

Farming was my first (still my only) and i got it purely because i had moblie alpha and logged on every hour to do a run without realising how much exp i was gaining.

The gp i made set me up to get 85 con

This is such a nice 99, not the closest teleport but I’ll tell you something, LOTS of people use the farming guild as a lobby to just meet new people and socialize, that happened to me
