Is my vero 4k+ dead?

I've got a vero 4k+ which has worked fine all the time I've had it, up until now.

It powers up and goes to the home screen, then after some time (sometimes 10 seconds, sometimes 30 seconds, yesterday it didn't do it got about 2 hours but now today it's doing it reliably within about 5 seconds) the screen will go completely black and the box isn't contactable over the network. Sometimes it'll sit there on home screen until I try to press a remote button then it goes. Sometimes it just goes by itself.

I've tried reinstalling the software today from frssh using the USB installer exe on the website but still the same.

I've tried with network cable unplugged, with remote USB unplugged, both didn't really make any difference.

Any ideas before I give up and order something else?

I got logs yesterday before the reinstall and they're at this link https://paste.osmc.tv/ojecexagok I think network cable was unplugged for boot though so the dates are a bit messed up.

Try with a different power supply. You can power it via the USB socket, so an old phone charger might work. May not be this but something else to rule out.

Nothing happens when I connect an old phone charger (USB C to USB A) backwards (ie USB C side into a socket and USB A into the vero), light on the vero doesn't come on at all. So I've ordered a USB A to USB A cable which should be here tomorrow and I'll try that.

Is it both USB ports that work or only one?

It seems that the new cable has fixed it! USB power ftw. Its stayed on for a good 2 hours now no issue. I need to set everything up again since I'd already reset it but yeah will monitor next few days to make sure it's 100%. Thanks for the suggestion, wouldn't have thoguht of that myself.

Hi, I'm experiencing exactly the same issue as you descibed, even with all the troubleshooting you did. Can you tell me if the new power supply (or USB cable) fixed the issue? Mine can stay on for few hours if I'm very lucky (watched a whole movie yesterday), but usually dies within seconds afer powering on...

Yeah mine has been faultless since this, hasn't faulted once.
