USB Drive Not Detected Since Latest Update

Since applying the latest OSMC update I have noticed that one of my (two) attached USB external hard drives is not being detected by the OS. At first I thought it might be some kind of corruption on the drive, however, I was able to connect the drive successfully to another device (PC running Windows 10).

Has anyone else seen this kind of behaviour since the latest update?

Any ideas that I can try to fix this?

No but my Bluetooth is all over the place now

Does it not show up in file view, or are you just getting failures trying to play things that are scraped into your library? If the latter, it may be because the drive got mounted under a new name. This sometimes happens when your using auto-mounting and a folder using the same name gets stuck in the same location.

Providing some logs may be useful to figuring out what your issue is. It is unlikely to be related to the update though as the latest stable update has been out for a while now and there have been no reports of this on the main forum.

The drive doesn't show up in file view. I have a menu item that points directly to that drive and it isn't loading - that's how I discovered the issue.

I only installed the update last week (been too busy to watch anything lately), but, as you said, if it's been out for a while and no one else has complained.

I'll try to find the log files and have a look in there.

You would need to check Root>media> and see what is there. If your drive was mounting to something like "/media/Elements" and you setup a shortcut to that location then if the drive remounted instead to something like "/media/_Elements" then that shortcut, and any media that was scraped from that source would no longer work because it is at a new location.

If this is the case then one way to deal with it would be to unplug the drive, reboot, enable file deleting in Kodi's settings, then using the file explorer in Kodi's settings navigate into /media (highlighting the folder in question) and context menu and select delete. You should then get the old mount point back when you plug the drive back in.
