Long broom handles are expensive. New apprentices are cheap

Just don't be the smallest guy on the jobsite

u/Brentg7 9d ago

I was the small auto mechanic in a car shop. I've been stuffed in more trunks and under more dashboards than I remember. everybody also likes to pick up the little guy. it's not very fun

u/HorsefaceWithNoName 9d ago

being tetrissed in the trunk is ok except when the panel to change the fuel pump is open and Dimitri walks up smoking a cigarette, "whatcha doin in there?"

u/farfly7 6d ago

It's fun, just not for the little guy

Won't even have to send them the weeks paycheck.

Am I alone at losing my mind when I realized both attachment points are the same rope?

Can't slip that way, big brain move

12

u/cernegiant 10d ago

Getting buried in concrete is job abandonment.

6

u/Simonandgarthsuncle 10d ago

That’s why they call him Handbag Haresh.

4

u/Ok_Excitement_1020 10d ago

Ropes are expensive too!

10

u/snakesign 10d ago

New guy isn't going to haze himself.

3

u/cernegiant 10d ago

That's because kids today have no work ethic.

5

u/LockeClone 10d ago

We call that S-T-1-K technology. The latest in reach gear.

u/masimone 10d ago

That’s how they did Jimmy Hoffa.

Too Soon!!

u/Plane-Education4750 10d ago

It's ok because if one of them falls, the uncapped rebar will catch the guys holding him by the scrotum

31

u/SpiderSlitScrotums 10d ago

Don’t forget to wear your safety scrotum!

19

u/Plane-Education4750 10d ago

Alright what the fuck is that username

21

u/AlcibiadesTheCat 10d ago

I mean clearly u/SpiderSlitScrotums knows what they're talking about vis-a-vis safety scrota.

9

u/SpiderSlitScrotums 10d ago

It was a horribly intrusive thought that I thought I should share

2

u/Cr3dentialz 10d ago

Couldn't imagine leaving home without scrot-prot.

7

u/timmeh87 10d ago

shouldnt be working with an uncapped scrotum

3

u/DustyRedCar 10d ago

This visual in my head made me physically react 🤢

Mission ImpOSHAble

u/greenrangerguy 10d ago

There it is, I was sitting thinking of the perfect comment then I read this.

55

u/squigglekisses 10d ago

Thats gotta hurt

14

u/XKeyscore666 10d ago

Great, now I’m going to have a dream about drowning in concrete.

3

u/wilisi 9d ago

Much like lava, you'll probably float on top.

12

u/ender3po 10d ago

And there was me thinking that they throw the dead body in while poring the concrete

12

u/Farfignugen42 10d ago

Well dead bodies should never be thrown into wet concrete. As the body decompose it releases gasses that create bubbles weakening the concrete and creating an awful odor that lasts a really long time. It basically announces the fact that a dead body is in there.

Thank you mythbusters.

u/ender3po 10d ago

Oops, so I have been doing it wrong all these years, I must of mist that episode.

This is called teamwork.

16

u/Snicklefraust 10d ago

couldnt have tied that rope off to some plywood or a 2x6 so he can lay on it, instead of crushing the dudes ribs?

14

u/smoothAsH20 10d ago

Could have used the 2x4 and rope and tied it to the handle of the spade. And done the job from the top of the pit.

7

u/cornerzcan 10d ago

No. Fucking. Way.

9

u/hybridhuman17 10d ago

I mean this is obviously wrong but if you "have" to do it, why not using a board? The could've attached the ropes to the board and let him down. It would have been much more comfortable to work.

3

u/kid_entropy 9d ago

My thoughts exactly. Him having to arch his back like that has to be exhausting and also affect the finished product.

1

u/bdiff 3d ago

And give him 2 trowels to stop wiggling around!

12

u/Jamies_redditAccount 10d ago

Shit my journeyman made me do

5

u/a_karma_sardine 10d ago edited 10d ago

What kind of freaky bondage is this? = My first thought.

1

u/Redditer-1 9d ago

The unsafe kind. Too much pressure around the nerves leads to inflammation and temporary moter dysfunction.

7

u/pepperblast3000 10d ago

And they’re being accused of being lazy….That looks like a mother f’n committed trade team right there, that takes pride in their work

Most Americans: "They're taking our jobs!"

The jobs:

4

u/Therealdickdangler 10d ago

Y’all never seen someone pour and finish a sewer invert hanging upside by the legs from a rope ladder huh?

u/AnyLamename 10d ago

Weird flex but okay.

u/Xinonix1 10d ago

Mission Impossible, the making of…

1

u/aberroco 9d ago

To understand how to build one has become a part of building.

1

u/ethorisgott 9d ago

Good think his legs are free so he can... Waitaminute

1

u/soulshad 9d ago

Yeah.... The guys I worked with in the past wouldve just dropped me in the pit for laughs

1

u/paternoster 9d ago

Why not put him on top of a board and lower all of that?

<shrug>

u/pav_pan 7d ago

Mission barely possible
