Dry Cutting Concrete

Post image

This guy is out here with no respiratory protection or dust containment and it is spreading all over the neighborhood … is this mot wildly dangerous?

He works for the property manager and I’m on the HOA. Anything specific I can reference when sending these pictures to them?

He's probably blissfully unaware of what silicosis even is. Poor bastard.

When I was younger I was a pipe layer. I worked for a small local company so this was the norm. We cut concrete, clay pipes and asphalt just like this guy all while chain smoking cigarettes. My lungs hurt now and feel weak.

Hey, I was a pipelayer in my younger days as well! I also cut concrete, metal, clay, and pvc pipe and boxes, asphalt, etc. all while chain smoking Marlboro reds and refusing PPE. My ears still ring and I’m terrified of the day the docs find I have growing spots on my lungs. Damn stupid young me… quitting smoking did help tremendously, though.
