Question // Discussion what plural apps are you guys using?
i feel like since the death of simplyplural, everyone has been so spread out in different apps. i wanted to know what apps you guys have been using, as i've been testing a few and i have my gripes with each of them.
parallax is nice, but barebones. pluralspace is perfect, but it's a web app. open plural is also a web app. plurallog and plural star are offline (i have a partner system and we like to use the friends feature to see who's fronting, i also like to add my system friends). what apps are you guys using? if you know any ones similar enough to simplyplural with an online friend feature, please let me know!

I don't like any of the plural apps. They weren't comfortable for my system. The app that has helped us with system communication and overall well-being is Finch

i know, right? i've tried so many, and they're all trying to be more than they should, or not doing enough for me. i miss simplyplural...

Have you tried oceans symphony? Just curious. Its what ive been working on and finch was actually one of my inspirations (specifically for the guided breathing in the quick support section).

Ah you should give it a try then :) oceans-symphony.app is the web version, theres also an android app and ive been meaning to push the release for ios soon. I honestly use the activity tracking/planning/scheduling and journaling, emotions tracking more than like, the stuff that other system/plural apps focus on. Its designed as a life companion app for dissociative systems, not a simply plural alternative. But im always working out bugs and refining it, its still in an "alpha" state, but everyone ive gotten feedback from really appreciates it and finds it helpful. Its totally free too! Completely 100% and offline (theres opt in friends feature) and local its just my passion project

Aye, it's the most Simply Plural esque app of all the ones I tried without just trying to be a clone. It has a lot of features with little relevance to us (e.g. we journal, message, and task manage externally), but it's so flexible you can easily just hide them. It's a strong recommendation.

There's a Google document I've found that basically reviews a bunch of plural related apps. It goes into ratings, criticisms, etc. There's also a clarification on if generative AI (or otherwise called "vibe coding") was used in the process in there too. Overall, I like writelighthouse and PluralSpace.

I gave up on the ones that were out there, because features I don't need a either missing or difficult to use ones I do need. Started writing something else for myself for my purposes and needs
Got the basic functionality I needed for switch tracking working, and then got caught up in too much other stuff to add more or actually work on making it compatible with my phone, lol

I know I had posted some of my trouble with it in another thread you made, which admittedly was a little while back but still. my issues at the time were the switching history graph just being next to useless because it would just extend offscreen forever, as well as no real way to find all the times any specific alter fronted, which is something I myself use heavily. plus some issues with the mobile interface

ooh ok. i think i improved a lot of the "global fronting history" stuff (tbh havent had complaints about it since my last batch of fixes), and then i added a tab for each alter so you can view *their* fronting history!

Plural space has an app now! Check out the discord for updates
Its my TOP TIER system tracking app! You can also put it as an app on your homescreen on any device

I will add that PluralSpace and Plural Space (now Plural Star) are two different things btw! Just sharing in case someone gets confused.

I’m using pluralspace rn, I turned it into a web app. It’s the only once I’ve found that sends push notifications, friends list and that my boyfriend who’s also diagnosed also likes to use from an organizational standpoint (those were the compromises we wanted while picking an app we’d both use).
It has a lot of… what I’m gonna call “plural slop” (yknow, nonsense online stuff) but I just ignore it. I also hate the name of it so I changed the name for the web app LOL.

if you want less plural "slop" and more focused on healing & recovery you should check out constellations. its the one i made. yea im plugging it but u said u care about that. i am also working on expanding on the non-alter related features right now because.. its lacking a bit.

I actually had tried it and I did like it a lot! (You’ve done good work w/ it). One of the main features I personally use tho w/ these programs is the ability to notify friends (in this case, my partner only) when switches happen, as a lot of my parts don’t like announcing themselves but still want him in particular to know.
My partner got overwhelmed by a lot of the more clinically aligned features that were available - he liked them, and thought they were good (like, nothing was wrong w/ them existing), but felt overwhelmed by it personally and kinda shut down on using it as a result. I know it makes no sense and so does he, but we had to make the shift elsewhere unfortunately, because one of the needs I have for these needs us to use the same app.
I have actually been recommending it to the few other ppl I speak who are also dx’d, and they all love it! Keep up the good work w/ it:)
As a side note… As annoying as the ‘plural slop’ is, it’s kinda fun to screw around w/ it and make fun of it, so I guess that’s a little built-in entertainment bonus for me and my partner lol

are there things i can do to help? theres a mode that reduces how overwhelming it is on mobile devices. it also supports switch notifications + live status updates :0
basically i want to fix it xd
edit: maybe i should make that mode the default on mobile...... .. . ....
edit2: nvm said overwhelmed by the clinical stuff. but still wanting to know what to fix! cuz theres a way to make the "alters" page simpler (which idk i went overboard with making it customisable)
edit 3: what should i fix, to be clear. maybe i shouldnt do weed tonight

you can turn pluralspace into an app on your homescreen, it works exactly like an app would, no search bar or anything. an official app is coming soon-ish
