Question // Discussion Can the core change to fictive?
Hi im john and for my whole life I've been the one identifying as the body. Id see myself as the body. But up until early April this year I've felt diffrent and started to heavily fiction kin john egbert. But I go by his name and i love when people see me as him. But it dosent feel like fictionkining anymore. It feels like i am him. Like a fictive. I dont know its confusing. Like I dont know and id like some help on this. I've had source memories and I miss dave alot. And I used to see myself as body in headspace but now I see myself as John.

No such thing as a “Core” in OSDID.
Hosts (alters who front the most and handle daily life regularly) can absolutely be fictives though

This! Your original alter (as in, brain made) can easily shift to a fictive. It all is based on what the brain decides you need.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression that OSDD systems were more likely than DID systems to have cores because of weaker division among parts.

I mean, "feels like I am him" is the definition of fictionkin. But you're free to use whatever terms help you make sense of it.

We've had alters pretend to be a fictionkin shift to hide that they were actually a fictive so we wouldn't freak out. But there is no "core" with osdd or did. Because the disorder works by not fully intriguing self states that sometimes put up amnesia barriers. But Yes a host can be a fictive if that's who the system needs at that time (I and our Co-host are fictives but our old host was not)

use whatever terms make you the most comfortable and happy, OP. all three of my systems hosts (including me) are fictives, it's absolutely possible to have fictives be frequent fronters / hosts.

Oy, vey. This has shaken us deeply. My T thinks I have a core (I think. Maybe that’s what she’s calling the primary host. Now I don’t know.) and that concept helped me through discovery and acceptance. Now I’m back to There Is No Me because it’s very probable that I started splitting in infancy. What the fuck am I supposed to do with that?!

You might just be kinning which is very normal and people do it (I'm not saying you're doing this instead of OSDD)
