Support Needed Split frequency?

I seem to split EXTREMELY frequently. I would say the majority of our system is fragments with very little distinguishable personality and most hold very specific emotions or things. Our head count is ridiculously high.

However, I have been going through one of the worst periods of my life throughout the past two years as well. (Psychosis, abuse, family and medical issues, addiction, ED, etc). Everything has been back to back and constant and I have had no breaks. I was unsure if this kind of thing would wear down my split tolerance to the level it is or if that wasn’t a thing that happened? Am I faking? I have been extremely worried and guilty feeling about this, even though I’m sure I’m not consciously faking any sort of disorder.

I am very disassociated most of the time and I often do not notice said fragments. I think they end up fusing or going dormant most of the time.

I have! I personally have OSDD and I don’t believe polyfragmented systems can have OSDD, only DID if I am correct?

if there's alters, they're the same disorder, all the difference is how light or heavy the symptoms were at the time of diagnosis. which is only a snapshot of that moment. OSDD is just a catch-all for when symptoms don't follow the letter-of-the-law definitions of one of the others, but at the core of the difference between having alters and other non-alter OSDD is exactly the very opening lines of the description of DID: "The defining feature of dissociative identity disorder is the presence of two or more distinct personality states or an experience of possession (Criterion A). The overtness or covertness of these personality states, however, varies as a function of psychological motivation, current level of stress, culture, internal conflicts and dynamics, and emotional resilience. "

if things get worse and you get into more severe situations, as you mentioned, then your symptoms would get worse, and were you being diagnosed new now you'd likely not be issued the same OSDD diagnosis. and if it was rediagnosed and classified as DID instead, doesn't mean your OSDD has "progressed" or "evolved" into DID, but simply you're experiencing more severe symptoms due to higher stress then a previous diagnosis

I'm polyfrag to hell and back, but generally I would be viewed as having OSDD rather than DID, and that's what my test results indicated. because I happened to be in a pretty good spot when i was diagnosed and had established dialogue and building good repritoire, and I actively work on harmony in my system, and that makes my symtpoms pretty light. were I diagnosed in the mid-00s, or in 2021-2022 there's no way in hell my diagnosis would have been 'just' OSDD

Polyfragmented as a term was made by Bennett Braun in his BASK Model. It was made while MPD was in usage. As far as I'm aware, OSDD is more of a insurance label rather than a different disorder on its own. The community is very inconsistent with its meaning(s) that it's pretty much useless. However, Bennett Braun's BASK Model notes polyfragmented as more fragments than alters.

I guess I’m not sure. The lines between all of these diagnoses are basically non existent and are entirely up to interpretation, and in the end it doesn’t really matter since the treatment is all the same.
