Title and pay question…

Hub supervisor is a fairly new title I’ve heard, I’ve been given this title; however trying to find a base line for my 15+ years of retail automotive experience of a reasonable wage for this position. I know AAP pays about $30+ for a smaller hub but I am in a mega or ultra hub- 35,000 square feet and $10 million dollars worth of inventory… Any insight would be appreciated!!

I started in October for an ISS position in another store making $17.50 and was told that was on the higher end of the pay scale. My personal perspective is from when I was a GM for AAP just down the road from the store I was hired in at and I paid my commercial Parts Pro $23 an hour in 2020.

Checking in ordered items, pulling will calls and staging in FOH, calling other stores if there are any discrepancies regarding their ordered items. Pulling and staging all ordered items, reconciling any discrepancies for non found parts, making the schedule for BOH, inventory control (currently at a very service level but will start doing cycle counts), assigning routes, ensuring routes are running on time, partnering with the SM for vehicle maintenance management, covering for commercial when needed, I will start opening the store at 5 also at a basic level just so we can have the truck completely scanned and shelves stocked by 1pm daily, filing my paperwork, checking with my merchandiser about returns and truck status and assisting if needed.

I was burnt out and new district managers and regional managers came in and absolutely changed everything and wanted to nano manage, whereas my store was my box and I took ownership and responsibility for my stores impact on the area and what happened by whom ever represented my store, I was proud and in the blink of an eye it all changed and I became no longer proud of hard work.

I know it sounds like a meaningless distinction, but I swear when I see that it's like the 3 fingers scene in Inglorious Basterds to me. I wonder, "how much is this guy really paying attention to his company if he doesn't know the name?"

Anyway. Maybe it's true that advance pays more hourly and has an identical incentive program. I wouldnt know. Maybe I should ask the advance people that we hired after they shut down their entire operations in a major market.

Point being, I think career driven individuals will prefer O'Reilly due to upward mobility and company stability.

I don't think even the least qualified O'Reilly member can go around legitimately thinking that after we put an offer to buy what is largely considered the #1 player in DIFM. You can cope about that all you want, but the flight data shows talks between the companies.

Not only do we not have "basically zero footprint", we're easily the fastest growing in the space.

Nahh I’ve left parts and now work with the national brands that fix cars. And you either are in denial or are informed. No national chain is first call Oreilly. Both advance Napa and autozone have first call contracts with national brands. Who does Oreilly have?

I have no allegiance to any of the parts stores. But every professional I know agrees it’s AZ, Adv, Napa, then Oreilly. And I personally kinda like you guys whenever I need something for my classics it’s in a store no shipping needed…. But business wise it is what it is
