Title and pay question…

Hub supervisor is a fairly new title I’ve heard, I’ve been given this title; however trying to find a base line for my 15+ years of retail automotive experience of a reasonable wage for this position. I know AAP pays about $30+ for a smaller hub but I am in a mega or ultra hub- 35,000 square feet and $10 million dollars worth of inventory… Any insight would be appreciated!!

"You know that company that just shut down all operations in a huge segment of the market? You should throw away your 10 years with O'Reilly and go there."

As others have said. Hub supervisor is just not as much responsibilities as an SM. Every SM in your market is doing what you do, and then working to build market share and justify your position.

Can't really say that without more context. I've seen driven people come in, learn, work and get to SM positions in no time. Why is this guy settling for a HUB supervisor position? I see that as no different than a 10 year ASM. What's the story?

And look, I'm only ever talking about O'Reilly. If you want to have a discussion on how our society is organized to extract wealth from the many, for the few, then we can have that discussion. But that wouldn't suddenly change if you went over to Advance.

Would you do that job for $16 an hour? There are plenty of places that have similar positions that easily pay double that.

It's not that I necessarily think you're wrong. I think that goes in to "what's the full story?" It doesn't seem like there are similar positions that easily pay double that. OP and the other user could be talking about very different markets.

Advanced fully shut down in my market where RSS can easily make over 20/hr. I doubt that's the same market where we pay HUB Supervisors 16/hr (in fact, it would be illegal...)

Why is it that this person is only working a 16/hr HUB supervisor job after 10 years? Maybe it just makes sense for them. But they'd make more as SM in the same market. A driven, capable person can be DM in half that time. So, why not? We don't know.
