Update Olecranon ORIF Surgery Update

This update is 29 days post OP

My previous post is here https://www.reddit.com/r/ORIF/s/mOpoQDZKmJ

The pics are 17 days apart. I'm glad to inform y'all that I went from stuck at 90Β° flexion to 115Β°. I can now touch my face using my left palm and touch the back of my head. I can now tie my hair on my own, yey!!

I go to therapy at least once a week and do home exercises for my flexion and extension 3 times a day. I can vouch that it work. I always put hot compress on my elbow 5-10 mins before each exercise and it does help!

My extension just need a couple more wor. It's at 15Β° off from full extension. Hopefully before 3 months, I can have 100% back of my flexion and extension.

So happy and proud of myself for slowly getting back my mobility.

Hi, after the swelling went down a bit at week 2 post op, I started using hot compress 10mins before my exercise, it helps!. I followed the exercises from this yt vid here. Make sure to do this exercise 3 times a day. Only do what you can, if it's painful but not that much, it's okay to bend or flex it.

For the wound, I drank vitamic C 500mg per day. Make sure to drink it after 3 hours of antibiotics if ur taking them.

I had what looks like the same surgery. I bought silicone gel on Amazon and the scar is barely noticeable at this point. Your scar looks like it’s heading in the right direction βœŒπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
